John Hawkins The Weblog Awards

I'm a finalist in the Best Conservative Blog category at the 2007 Weblog Awards, which I must admit is flattering. It's always great to get a little recognition for your work.

However, because the awards allow people to vote once every 24 hours, even if I encouraged all of you to vote for me every day, it would be impossible for me to beat some of the bigger blogs in the category that are also urging people to vote for them.

With that in mind, I figured that if I can't be the king, I might as well be a kingmaker and get a little something out of the deal on the side from Ace of Spades HQ, the blog in 2nd place. If he links Conservative Grapevine each day, I'll return the favor by encouraging you to vote for his blog in the best conservative blog category.

Since, at the moment, it's shaping up to be a two way dance between Ace and Michelle Malkin for the top slot, I feel totally comfortable pushing Ace's blog. After all, if my buddy Michelle decided to win and linked from her blog and Hot Air every day, there's nothing I could do to defeat her.

So, how about going here and voting for Ace of Spades HQ. At the moment, he's 172 votes behind Michelle.

However, if everyone who reads this heads over and votes for him, he will catch up and pass her in short order -- so hit that button like you're a Paulbot and catapult Ace into first place. He deserves the push and it will help my other blog, Conservative Grapevine, continue to add new readers.

PS: If there's anyone else interested in a similar deal, just let me know. The Right Wing News poll Freeping service is open for business through Friday.

PS #2: Redstate has decided to get in on the deal. So, how about helping me out by going here and voting for Redstate in the Best of the Top 250 Blogs weblog category. Currently, they're in first place by a mere 28 votes.
