William Teach LA Times: Negotiating Isn't Appeasement

The LA Times is going all out in spinning away Barack NMN Obama's idea to have himself directly talk with leaders of countries that hate us

AppeasementIn a speech to the Israeli parliament Thursday, President Bush took a swipe at Barack Obama for his willingness to negotiate with evil regimes.

"Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along," Bush said. "We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."

But if there is anything that has been discredited by history, it is the argument that every enemy is Hitler, that negotiations constitute appeasement, and that talking will automatically lead to a slaughter of Holocaust-like proportions. It is an argument that conservatives made throughout the Cold War, and, if the charge seemed overblown at the time, it seems positively ludicrous with the clarity of hindsight.

Funny how the LA Times automatically assumes, just like Obama and the other Democrats, that Bush's speech was a swipe at Obama. I wonder why that is?
Can Somebody Explain to Me ...... how Obama sat in Wright's church for 20 years and managed never to hear anything, but hears 20 seconds of a Bush speech that doesn't mention him and perceives a shameful personal attack?

Can someone explain to the LA Times this position from the Obamessiah's official webpage?
Diplomacy: Obama is the only major candidate who supports tough, direct presidential diplomacy with Iran without preconditions. Now is the time to pressure Iran directly to change their troubling behavior. Obama would offer the Iranian regime a choice. If Iran abandons its nuclear program and support for terrorism, we will offer incentives like membership in the World Trade Organization, economic investments, and a move toward normal diplomatic relations. If Iran continues its troubling behavior, we will step up our economic pressure andpolitical isolation. Seeking this kind of comprehensive settlement with Iran is our best way to make progress. (screenshot here before it ends up down the memory hole)

If the President of the USA goes and talks with the President of Iran with no preconditions, that will elevate Iran and their anti-American sentiments above their just barely 2nd world country status. Yes, we talked with the Soviet Union: they were the worlds other superpower, at least militarily. They had lots of nuclear weapons. A huge army and air force. They had missile carrying submarines. And much more. What does Iran have, other then an attempt to create a nuclear weapons program and sending their minions out to kill Americans in Iraq?

PS: The Times even ends up telling us how great Clinton was in talking with North Korea, and that McCain was against that. Remind me, when you give a nuclear lite water reactor to a rogue nation like North Korea with a promise that they will not actually use it, then, they crack the seal and start to use it to make weapons grade nuclear material before Albright even got back to Washington, would that be appeasement?

To Billy Jeff's due, at least he didn't talk directly with the little pr0n watching dictator himself.
