Van Helsing Dems Go After Convicted Felon Vote

Democrats have found a rich new vein for mining votes: convicted felons.

In Alabama, Al Sharpton's younger brother, the Rev. Kenneth Glasgow, will take his "Prodigal Son" ministry into state prisons with voter-registration cards for the first time. The American Civil Liberties Union recently filed suit there and in Tennessee to make it possible for an even larger class of felons to register. In Ohio, the NAACP will hold a voter-registration day at the Justice Center in downtown Cleveland this month to register "people caught up in the criminal justice system," a local official said. In California, a team will stand in front of jails on Aug. 16 to register people visiting prisoners and encourage them to take registration cards to their incarcerated friends or family members, some of whom can legally vote.

In Florida, RINO Governor Charlie Crist recently pushed through a change that made 115,000 felons eligible to vote. The campaign to get them registered is being led by Obamunist civil rights lawyer Reggie Mitchell, who crows:

The majority of people to get their rights restored are Democrats, and if we get them registered, [we] might overtake the state.

Nice work, Crist. At least this might keep you from getting reelected.

That left-wing outfits assume the overwhelming majority of convicted felons would vote Democrat tells you all you need to know about the Party of Decline.

Democrats always think in terms of identity politics. They've always been trying to give felons and illegals the vote... and does anyone with a brain not think Barack Obama is the result of their desperate attempt to keep the black vote?
This should be headlined as the Obama version of "change" - and broadcast to all who care as an assault on the constitutions/laws of the land.
With these democrats it is always about getting power for themselves. At least these democrats are admitting why they are doing what they are doing instead of couching it in bullshit prose. I am sure that at the same time they are working hard to give criminals a vote, they are working just as hard to suppressing military absentee ballots too.

There is however of something of enormous importance in what we see here, and that is that criminals tend to overwhelmingly be democrats and agree with their policies. I would not take pride in that. To me it basically means democrats hold believes that either aid criminals and their crimes, or worse are themselves criminals deep down at heart. Unbelievable that they are admitting this much though. That means they no lonnger fear the consequence of that association. Just wow.
Further proof that America's time as a free and powerful nation is almost done...
"The majority of [felons who were given back their vote] are Democrats, and if we get them registered, [we] might overtake the state."

Unusual of them to be so honest.
States are entitled to make their own decisions about when - or if - convicted felons get their right to vote restored. And the states are all over the map on the question. Obama and the DNC have little to do with it.

Besides, it's just politics. If it turned out that most former convicted felons vote Republican, the GOP would be doing the same thing as the Dems are doing now. It's what political parties do - dredge up votes whenever and wherever they can - and anyone who thinks they are concerned with ethical or moral questions while they are doing it suffers from naive delusions.

In the Van Helsing view of the world, of course, any one doing anything he does not like must be evidence of a vast conspiracy - whether its environmental, or the entertainment business, or political parties registering people to vote because the party thinks they will lean their way. Sorry, but..... to paraphrase Russell Long - the dog don't hunt.
Illegal immigrants are voting in Texas. At least 300 of them have been registered to vote and at least 41 have voted in elections. That we know of.

These are, no doubt, heavy GOP voters as well.

LOL. Well, at least you're no longer bothering with the ridiculous pretense that you are, in any form or fashion, even remotely conservative.
Hey Meta, are you now taking your cues from Mayor Hickenpooper in Denver?

Waaagh the Republican would be, or are, doing it as well so it's no big deal. Problem is you can't prove what you're saying which I suspect is because it's total Bullshit!!

And guess what, IF, and that's a big IF Republican were doing it as well, we'd all be just as pissed. It's called a "Principle" that it's simply not right. You may try looking up the word, understanding what it means, and then figuring out why you're so morally bankrupt that you don't have any.
You're projecting Kilroi1.

Metatron has no principles.
Besides, it's just politics. If it turned out that most former convicted felons vote Republican, the GOP would be doing the same thing as the Dems are doing now.

Sure. Got any proof?
Kilroi1, Dick_Nixon and G_O_B have it right, and, Meta(fake conservative)tron is full of fertilizer.

ANY Google search of stories regarding voter fraud (and this is coming from the leftist MSM) conclusively demonstrates that the people perpetrating such fraud are (wait for it) . . . DEMOCRATS and other assorted leftists.

Yeah, metatron, keep right on with the moral equivalence meme. Just further proof of what BULLSHIT most of your positions really are. Did I say "most" of your positions? Make that "ALL."

The Dems/leftists are concerned with ONE thing: power. They will do ANYTHING to get it, and justify because they have "good intentions" ("Hello? Road to Hell Paving Crew? We have some raw materials for you!")

Are there venal Republicans? HELL, YES!!!!

Did the Republican leadership totally abandon their supposed allegiance to fiscal discipline? OH, HELL, YEAH!!!!

Do REPUBLICANS and CONSERVATIVES, in general (rank & file) value principles over power? Just witness the Right's reaction to Juanita McVain. In many ways, from a POWER point of view, McVain is a great candidate. Great name recognition, a reputation for "bipartisanship," a reputation (totally undeserved, IMHO, but still real) for "straight talk." By the most crass analysis of electoral politics, Juanita is an IDEAL candidate (and, unless the dynamic changes DRAMATICALLY between now and November, he'll beat Obambi like a redheaded stepchild). So why do conservatives HATE him??? Because he undermines conservative principles every chance he gets. He fucked us on the First Amendment (McCain/Feingold), he fucked us on immigration (McCain/Kennedy), he pretty much screwed us every chance he got. So, we're "just like the Democrats" HOW, exactly, metadork?????

What a fuckin' tool you are.
If it turned out that most former convicted felons vote Republican
...the meaning of the words Democrat and Republican would be inverted.

Hint: felons won't vote for a party whose major constituency has the motto "get a job and stick with it if you want success". It's slightly opposite to their demonstrated "principles".
If it turned out that most former convicted felons vote Republican, the GOP would be doing the same thing as the Dems are doing now.

And if they did, we Conservatives would be ripping them apart just as hard as we are the Democrats. Only you forgot to ask: why are most convicted felons Democrats in the first place?

metawuli, what a pos you are. How ignorant can a person be? demoncrites like felons becuase to them, they are not criminals but bretheren. The left thinks rape and murder is completly acceptable behavior. Of course the dims want to register that type, hell having to get a job or any personal responsibility is foreign to your ilk. You pos' should move to oregone where you can legally commit suicide. You leftist pieces of feces are so desparate for votes, that you would give all criminals amnesty if you thought it could help. But in places where the average American pays attention and loves their country, unlike kommiefornistan, newyork, and other blue areas, leftists don't win.
metatorn: Besides, it's just politics. If it turned out that most former convicted felons vote Republican, the GOP would be doing the same thing as the Dems are doing now.

Only a deluded leftist twit would play this game. The republicans are far from being perfect, but they would cease to exist as a party if they ever tried to pull this kind stunt. People that tend to vote republican would never stand for it. I thought that it was already made very clear on this very blog site that unlike you democrats conservatives have some principles they will not compromise on.

I do note that you did not try to argue the fact that in general democrats tend to be crooks and crooks love democrats. That alone says volumes. You may fool some people with this talk of trying to help the fallen, but most sane people know democrats care only about getting themselves elected at all costs. Even if it means helping people that have turned against the very societies they live in and brutalized the other people. Talk about disgusting!
Do people seriously believe that such folks as Scooter Libby, Jeff Skilling, Andrew Fastow, Chuck Colson, Gordon Liddy etc will vote DEM if felons become elibible to vote? Nonsense.
In the Van Helsing view of the world, of course, any one doing anything he does not like must be evidence of a vast conspiracy

I'm curious as to where Van Helsing ever promoted any sort of "conspiracy".

Or did you just imagine that he did?

What part of "The majority of people to get their rights restored are Democrats" didn't you understand?
Hog,

So, you are so effin' stupid that you are unaware the Skilling contributed MORE money to Democrats than he did to Republicans? Oh, but I guess I answered my own question.

Metadork is a useless tool; you are an oxygen thief. Don't go away made, just go the fuck away. On second thought, go away mad. Maybe, that way, you'll STAY away.

Let's be fair. Not all felons are lazy. I know a guy who is now in prison, but got there working his ass off on a daily basis selling drugs. Literally every single day this guy was involved in the distribution and sales, and sometimes cultivation, of high quality marijuana. He never smoked the stuff. Just cultivated, distributed and sold. Made a fortune by working his ass off. Now of course he does sit on his ass a lot.
And so now the third troll on the thread shows up.... does ANYONE here really give a rats' a** what metafool, hogcrap, or masterbutt have to say?? What are they bothering for at RWN anyway, except that they just pant for attention?
Guess that's what excites them in their pathetic lives.
It says something about Liberals and the popularity of their positions that the only way they can hope to win is to have the backing of the felon vote...

Oh wait. That's not it. TROLL ACCORDING TO RROBIN: Those with whom I disagree.

I suspect that the democrats will clean up in the house and senate this year despite what happens with the presidency. That will be the best indication of the popularity of their positions.

Your admiration for the criminal element notwithstanding, all felons may not be lazy, but they are criminals that do not deserve to live among law-abiding people.

How many people (KIDS) are dead right now because this non-lazt felon you are bragging on gave them drugs that killed them? How many people had their lives ruined by this worthless POS getting them hooked on drugs.

How pathetic the Left in this country is.

Rarely? Would 'rarely' be good enough if it was your kid, or your parents or grandparents.

So this law deserves to be broken huh? What happens if I think rape laws deserve to be broken. Any problem with me dropping by your house and breaking that law with your daughter?

Again, you and the Left are pathetic!

The person that gets hooked on marijuana, coke, heroin or alcohol can't blame the person they bought the stuff from. They need to blame themselves. They are the weak ones.

And yea, it does deserve to be broken. It's a law that makes very little sense. If Joe Smith wants to smoke marijuana, it's not our business, or the states. You see, marijuana smoking, if it hurts anyone, only hurts the person who is doing it. Rape on the other hand, directly hurts another person.

So the person stoned out of their mind that leaves their child in the bathtub to crown hurts no one?
The person who gets stoned, drives, and kills a perestrian hurts no one?
The train conductor that is so stoned on the job that he wrecks his train, killing several people hurts no one?

If you think getting stoned hurts no one, then you are either mind-numbingly stupid or are too high on your favorite product.

What about the person that drinks or takes prescription drugs and does these things? Do we ban these things? What about the person that has a bad memory? Do we ban bad memory. How many potentially dangerous things shall we ban? It's not the drug's fault these things happen, it's the weak, stupid person's fault.

I presume you are in favor of banning alcohol.

Grow a pair and let people take responsibility for their actions.

So people only have to obey the laws they feel like obeying?

That said, I agree that the law is the law and if you choose to break it, get caught, then you deserve the consequences.

Oh, so it's only a crime if you get caught?

So if I murder my wife and successfully frame my neighbor for the deed, I haven't committed a crime? Is that what you're saying?

Relax...it's just marijuana.

What about those things? They are bad so we should allow something else that is just as bad, or even worse? What a stupid argument.

Don't lecture me on responsibility when you show so much admiration for people that break the law. Marijuana is illegal and anyone who uses it is a criminal. There is nothing admirable or heroic about that.

And you don't get to decide which law is OK to break. If you can decide to break drug laws, then I can decide that assault laws can be broken. You toke away and I'll drop by your house and beat the crap out of you and we can revel in our civil disobedience.

Personal responsibility starts with NOT BREAKING THE LAW!!!! Work on that before you start lecturing anyone else on a concept you are completely unfamiliar with!!
And here come the potheads out of the woodwork. Only missing fiza's reiterating of his own felonies, and we'd have a nice little slice of the Democrat electoral base.

Everyone gets to pick and choose the laws they will obey. But they shouldn't be surprised if they get caught and their are consequences.

Some people think certain laws are stupid, like marijuana possession laws. And they realize further that their chances of getting caught using marijuana are quite slim. And, they enjoy a toke now and again, just like some people enjoy a beer now and again. So, they take the chance. They generally aren't surprised if, upon getting caught, there are consequences.

Toking is *NOT* like drining a beer, you drugged-out simpleton. Toking is illegal and makes you a criminal. Drinking a beer in the privacy of your own home is fine.

Not that there is any way a pathetic Liberal hack like you would ever see that difference.
"Don't lecture me on responsibility when you show so much admiration for people that break the law. Marijuana is illegal and anyone who uses it is a criminal. There is nothing admirable or heroic about that."

Yep, they are criminals. But honestly, I don't give a shit if someone smokes some marijuana now and again and it doesn't hurt my opinion of them any more than if they have a drink now and again.

"And you don't get to decide which law is OK to break. If you can decide to break drug laws, then I can decide that assault laws can be broken. You toke away and I'll drop by your house and beat the crap out of you and we can revel in our civil disobedience."

Of course I get to decide what laws I'll be breaking. I have free will. I can do whatever I choose. So do you. And if we get caught, we'll each pay the consequences. But the idea that assault is anything like smoking Marijuana in terms of the severity of the crime is kind of silly. That's why they have different penalties.

No, it's still a crime.

Then so is drug dealing.

Bam. You lose the argument.

Except if the law is truly "stupid", then there shouldn't be any consequences.

So which is it? Is the law "stupid" or is it just?

You are correct. One is a misdemeanor and one is not. However, the effects of sitting around and drinking beer and having a toke off a pipe aren't that different.

It's very simple. I'll type slow.

Some folks ignore certain laws because they find the infraction in question a little silly to be qualified as an infraction of the law. So, they break that law. But they realize it's still the law. They don't expect to be let off just because they think it's stupid or an imposition on their liberty.

" No, it's still a crime.

Then so is drug dealing.

Bam. You lose the argument."

I never argued that drug dealing wasn't a crime. I argued that the the fault for the consequences of using drugs lies with the user, not the seller. No one is forced to buy and use marijuana.

And though I'm saying that I don't believe that marijuana use should be a crime, I nonetheless know that it is and comes with consequences.

Are you high?

I've always thought that convicted felons lost their right to vote.

So now, the "RATS" wanna change that, huh?

I wouldn't believe a word "Meta-moron" says here,....he's an ambulance chaser,..like his pal, the "Breck girly".

Then we have Metas' "brethren", the mental midget pot smokers, spreading their BS!

I bet you guys are impressed, eh? Hahaha.

Let's be fair. Not all felons are lazy.

Yeah some of them work really hard avoiding normal work. It's kind of hilarious in a way, and they get real mad when you point out they'd work less for the money if they were legit.

Of course cheese steaks are addictive. And for the record, those people who put mustard on them really should be charged with a crime.

My pot dealing friend who is jail avoided "normal" work by working his ass off. You should have seen the house and cars he had to turn over when he got caught. He was good at what he did...for about five years.
Nah no mustard, they don't need any condiments at all, but I prefer provolone over cheeze whiz.

I agree with you. The cheese whiz doesn't work. However, I like the white american cheese on mine (not the yellow kind). When I go down to Philly I tend to frequent Pat's, rather than Geno's. I'm not even sure why. It's like you are required to choose sides.

It's very hard to find a good cheese steak outside of Philly, which seems odd to me. However, when I was in San Francisco I stopped at a place that imported the buns, peppers and cheese from Philly and even sold Tasty Cakes. Those were damn good.

You may be right. But here's the unfortunate part. If Oil keeps dropping in price and if the price of gas levels out around 3.75 by the end of september, it may be that Americans are short sighted enough to forget about the whole issue. This is how stuff doesn't get done. People move on to the next democrat that has an affair and lies, to the next republican that gets a DUI or to the next celebrity that pulls their drawers down or buys a baby boy.
Of course they know they are committing a crime. They just don't care because they find the crime to be silly and they doubt they'll be caught.

Thank you for repeating exactly what I just said.

They don't believe their actions are criminal, and that's why they're doing it. But if their actions weren't criminal, if the law was really "stupid" and "deserved to be broken" then why should they face any consequences?

How could I think the LAW was stupid or deserve to be BROKE if I didn't think it was a crime.

Don't look at me. You're the pothead.
I go to Geno's, if only to piss off the PC types who are upset about the "Speak English" sign, or the fallen police officer memorial. But Pat's & Geno's, after all, are tourist traps. I like Jim's on South Street, Chink's, or Tony Luke's better.

On topic, of course the Dems want the felons to vote, they are the party of the underdog and the dead, after all.

All that's fine, but do you take it wit Whiz or Witout?
But here's the unfortunate part. If Oil keeps dropping in price and if the price of gas levels out around 3.75 by the end of september, it may be that Americans are short sighted enough to forget about the whole issue.

That's my biggest fear, to be honest. That as the price of gas keeps going down (and it should) people will forget their anger and the issue will slide.
I take it American (or occasionally provolone), always, always wit.

Cheese Whiz is an abomination, I don't know when that trend started. Blech.

Wit & witout refers to the fried onions, btw.
Wow,

A thread on Dems and RINOs working to give felons the vote devolves into a (half-assed) argument over The War on Drugs and Philly cheesesteaks?????

Can anyone say "threadjack"??????????
I'd rather talk about cheese steaks, to be honest. I mean, there's not much else to say on the subject of the Democratic Party's pernicity and the idiot GOP helping them out.

And those sammiches are so tasty :)
There is a correlation there. Drug users usually get the munchies, and sometimes get arrested, even in Philly. Thus, drug-addled cheeseteak-eaters are most likely also felons, and can't vote.

Or something like that.
