McQ Ah, Joe, It's Good To See You Back To Normal Again

The VP candiate from hell?

What the hey, he knows where the gates of hell are as I pointed out today. Right where his helicopter was "forced down" in Afghanistan.

On energy, well, to all the coal miners in PA and elsewhere, fugitaboudit:

"No coal plants here in America," he said. "Build them, if they're going to build them, over there. Make them clean."

"We're not supporting clean coal," he said of himself and Obama.

Except they do, at least on paper.

And, as Ben Smith points out:

The answer seems to play into John McCain's case that Obama has been saying "no" to new sources of energy.

Ya think?

Then there's the ad the Obama campaign did about McCain being supposedly computer illiterate:

Asked whether he's disappointed with the tone of the campaign, including the ad that Couric characterized as "making fun of John McCain's inability to use a computer," Biden said "I thought that was terrible by the way.

"I didn't know we did it and if I had anything to do with it, we would have never done it"

Biden later engaged the backup lights and tried to rationalize why it was "okay" to smear McCain:

"Having now reviewed the ad, it is even more clear to me that given the disgraceful tenor of Sen McCain's ads and their persistent falsehoods, his campaign is in no position to criticize," he said, "especially when they continue to distort Barack's votes on an issue as personal as keeping kids safe from sexual predators."

Of course, as has been pointed out, it doesn't matter what the "intent" of the bill was, it is the actual wording which becomes law. And the actual wording supports the premise of the McCain ad.

Perhaps my favorite line comes in another part of the Couric interview where the Democratic gaff-o-matic did a little rewriting of history:

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed," Biden told Couric. "He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'"

Uh, Joe, if there had been TV in 1929, don't you suppose it would have been Herbert Hoover people would have seen?
