Van Helsing With Election Over, Smoke Begins to Clear

Now that the campaigning is over for a few months, the media is dropping some of the pretenses that allowed it to install an unqualified, left-wing radical in the White House.

People who get their news from the leftstream media may vaguely recognize the name William Ayers. He was a terrorist who bombed a long list of government buildings, including the Pentagon, but got off on a technicality. Since then he's found a way to inflict more lasting damage, by climbing high in the education establishment. A famous example of Ayers's wit and wisdom:

Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, Kill your parents.

The career of his protégé Barack Obama was launched in Ayers's living room. The two have been working closely together for years, even sharing an office. Yet supposedly it was smearing Obama to suggest they are any more than neighbors.

Now the smoke is clearing; the Chicago Tribune is willing to publish Ayers's admission that he and the Obamas are "family friends."

Over at the Washington Post, the ombudsman can now admit that the paper has been in the tank for Obama:

The Post provided a lot of good campaign coverage, but readers have been consistently critical of the lack of probing issues coverage and what they saw as a tilt toward Democrat Barack Obama. My surveys, which ended on Election Day, show that they are right on both counts. …

The op-ed page ran far more laudatory opinion pieces on Obama, 32, than on Sen. John McCain, 13. There were far more negative pieces about McCain, 58, than there were about Obama, 32, and Obama got the editorial board's endorsement. …

One gaping hole in coverage involved Joe Biden, Obama's running mate. When Gov. Sarah Palin was nominated for vice president, reporters were booking the next flight to Alaska. Some readers thought The Post went over Palin with a fine-tooth comb and neglected Biden. They are right; it was a serious omission.

Once the Moonbat Messiah ascends to the throne, WaPo's coverage will of course be scrupulously balanced. No doubt we'll see some heartwarming pieces featuring pictures of Ayers bouncing the Obama children on his knee in the White House as he explains how his enlightened policies as Secretary of Education will finally put an end to 200 years of capitalist oppression.
