Haley Drops the Hammer on UN: ‘The US Will Not Be Told by Any Country Where We Can Put Our Embassy’

The United States has had to stand up to the United Nations for quite some time and it seems like under the Trump administration, that is finally happening. Nikki Haley is not taking any of their crap and refuses to be pushed around by any country.

It seems like the communists, dictators and Islamists of the UN are refusing to acknowledge our decision to put our embassy in Jerusalem, recognizing it as the official capital of Israel, dating back to biblical times. But Haley wasn’t having it.

[1]

A one-page, Egyptian-drafted resolution rejected Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. It was voted on by a 15-member council, which ended in a 14-1 vote. I’m sure you can guess who voted against it. The US has veto power and Haley used it.

This didn’t go without a fiery reaction from Haley, who is refusing to allow anyone to tell the United States where we can place our embassies.

“The United States refuses to accept the double standard that says we are not impartial when we stand by the will of the American people by moving our U.S. embassy, but somehow the United Nations is a neutral party when it consistently singles out Israel for condemnation,” she noted derisively.

“The United States’ recognition of the obvious, that Jerusalem is the capital and seat of the modern Israeli government, is too much for some,” she continued, still heated. “First, some have threatened violence on the street, as if violence would somehow improve the prospect of peace. Now today, buried in diplomatic jargon, some presume to tell America where to put our embassy. The United States has a sovereign right to determine where and whether we establish an embassy.”

“The United States will not be told by any country where we can put our embassy,” she concluded. “Buried even deeper in the jargon of this resolution is the accusation that the United States is setting back the prospects of peace in the Middle East. That is a scandalous charge.”

This shows you how much the United Nations hates Israel. “What we have witnessed here is an insult,” Haley continued. “It won’t be forgotten. It is one more example of the UN doing more harm than good in addressing the Israeli Palestinian conflict.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took to Twitter to thank Nikki for vetoing the resolution and to state his admiration of her. “Thank you, Ambassador Haley. On Hanukkah, you spoke like a Maccabi. You lit a candle of truth. You dispel the darkness. One defeated the many. Truth defeated lies. Thank you, President Trump. Thank you Nikki Haley.” Netanyahu tweeted.

Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon gave the United Nations a tweak by telling the Security Council that they “can vote another hundred times to criticize our presence in Jerusalem, but history won’t change. […] It’s time for all countries to recognize that Jerusalem always was and always will be the capital of the Jewish people and the capital of Israel,” Haaretz reported.

I think the “prospects of peace in the Middle East” ship sailed a long time ago, when people decided that their religion allows them to murder non-believers and get into heaven for it. Perhaps it’s time to give up that particular dream and settle for simply defending Israel from the endless number of barbarians who are at the gate. The Middle East doesn’t get to do whatever it wants without consequence while Israel sits idly by, allowing their people to be murdered.

And most importantly, no nation gets to tell the United States what we can and cannot do.

Today, Nikki Haley went even further and slammed the UN again. This time she informed them that the US “will be taking names” on a UN General Assembly vote Thursday on a nonbinding resolution criticizing President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Haley chose to use her Twitter account to speak out and be heard about this. She says in her tweet, “We’re always asked to do more & give more.” She went on to say, “So, when we make a decision, at the will of the American ppl (people), abt (about) where to locate OUR embassy, we don’t expect those we’ve helped to target us.” “On Thurs there’ll be a vote criticizing our choice. The US will be taking names.”

I love Nikki Haley. An American Christian woman who faces off with the UN fearlessly. As Netanyahu said, she’s a warrior for the ages.

The UN Security Council has voted 14-1 in favor of a resolution calling on Trump to rescind declaration on Jerusalem. The US vetoed, per @carlandry_afp

That's so much more diplomatic and polite than the "feel free to shove your resolution sideways; we veto" that I'd
Iikely say.
