North Korea Fires!

Tensions are rising between North Korea and the United States, as Kim Jong-Un continues to be more aggressive. Even the Chinese government has gotten involved and is urging North Korea to stop with their military posturing. But North Korea is only ramping up the hostilities even more.

North Korea has reportedly conducted a large-scale live fire drill, with up to 400 pieces of artillery. It was allegedly supervised by Kim Jong-Un himself. An unnamed government source said that the exercise included deploying long-range artillery units in the coastal region of Wonsan. The South Korean government did not confirm the exercise, but said that they were “firmly maintaining readiness.”

Meanwhile, Donald Trump is taking the threat seriously. Tomorrow, he will be meeting with the entire Senate, along with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats to discuss the crisis.

The military is already making a show of force, with a carrier strike group in the Pacific conducting military exercises with the Japanese navy. The USS Michigan, a nuclear submarine, is also joining the action and is currently at the port of Busan in South Korea.

China has also responded to North Korean aggression, banning imports of coal from North Korea after the United Nations imposed sanctions on the country. Rumors have also been floated that China may block the country of crude oil, which would have a massive catastrophic impact on Kim Jong-Un’s regime.

In John Hawkins’ new book, ‘101 Things All Young Adults Should Know’, he teaches in chapter 17 that if you want to know what a person really believes, watch their actions.

Kim Jong-Un’s actions show that he is an unstable, dangerous dictator who should not be treated cavalierly. Let’s hope the Trump administration is ready.
