Welcome To The Right Wing News Reboot
RWN has been around since 2001 and the page has had a lot of different design and staff changes over the years, but the general style really hasn’t changed all that much. The page, like most blogs, has always straddled that line between news and opinion. The style is as old as the blogosphere: You find a story, you excerpt it, and you add some commentary. That style works, which is why it has been around for so long and will continue to be around at RWN.
However, as I noted in a much-remarked-upon piece called The Slow, Painful Coming Death Of The Independent, Conservative Blogosphere, the environment is changing and becoming more professionalized and niche today.
That’s where the changes to Right Wing News come in.
First off, since I’m a columnist myself, I love the idea of promoting other columnists. There are a lot of outstanding writers out there, I know who they are, and I have secured the rights to bring you the best of the best here at Right Wing News every week. The following columnists will now be published every week at RWN in addition to other columnists who do excellent work that I’ll be linking on a column-by-column basis.
Victor Davis Hanson
Their columns will run in addition to the work of the outstanding bloggers who already write here.
Jenn Q. Public
Robert Stacy McCain
Warner Todd Huston
In addition, of course, my work will continue to be posted on RWN, but I’ll also be able to link more bloggers, something I’ve wanted to do for a long while.
Right Wing News used to do an excellent job of linking out to best conservative blog posts around the net, but when Linkiest came along, I farmed those duties out to that website. Now, with the changes that are coming in the format, I’ll be able to drive a little more traffic to other bloggers.
This is going to provide a combination that you just won’t find anywhere else — the best conservative columns, blog posts, and links all in one spot.
