Video of Assaults and Robberies Suppressed Because Information Is Racist

San Francisco’s Bay Area Rapid Transit is not the safest way to travel. Passengers are often assaulted and robbed:

In the last three months, there have been at least three robberies on BART involving groups of teenagers.

Teenagers? Is that the best description they can give? Don’t they have surveillance video?

So far, BART has refused to turn over surveillance video for any of these incidents.

Debora Allen, a member of the BART Board of Directors, explains why:

“To release these videos would create a high level of racially insensitive commentary toward the district,” she was told. “And in addition it would create a racial bias in the riders against minorities on the trains.”

Furthermore, dessiminating information of public interest, which the public paid to acquire, in order to keep the public safe would “unfairly affect and characterize riders of color, leading to sweeping generalizations in media reports.” Because we all know how eager the liberal media is to demonize non-whites.

Yet again, it is confirmed that public safety is of low priority for the liberals in charge. The top priority is always political correctness.

Using euphemisms and suppressing information don’t accomplish much. We all know that “teenagers” in the context of a crime story means “blacks.” Leaving the public to assume that if we don’t see a picture of the criminals, that means they are black doesn’t do much to dispel racial stereotypes.
