Henry Kissinger’s Final Legacy: Anti-Semite, Foreign Policy Troll

Henry Kissinger on newly-released Nixon Library tapes

Jews in gas chambers in Soviet Union, “not an American concern”

: How can a Jew, who escaped from the Holocaust and had relatives who did not, knowingly turn his back on his fellow Jews who are being murdered in another country?:  What could be more evil than an elitist, Americanized Jew who sits fat and satisfied in safety and in a position of power where he could help,: who would not move heaven and earth to get Jews to safety?:

It often takes decades for the truth of historical events to be known and sometimes the heroes of the moment: : are: exposed later: as: villains.:

Such is the case with despicable, disreputable, disgraced and discredited Henry Kissinger.: :

For younger readers or a refresher for those who don’t recall much about Henry Kissinger, read all about the former national security advisor, Secretary of State to Presidents Nixon and Ford and Nobel Peace Prize winner here.

New audio tapes have just been released from the President Richard Nixon Library, which continue to show the blunt, foul-mouthed, and racist side of President Nixon. : Unpleasant, but no surprises.:

What the new tapes: reveal : is a legacy-smashing conversation between Kissinger and President Nixon::

Kissinger is heard chatting animatedly with his grousing, racist, and: cursing : boss in March 1973.:  It was following an appeal from Golda Meir to press Moscow to allow the emigration of Soviet Jewry. Kissinger is heard on the tapes to say::

“The emigration of Jews from the Soviet Union is not an objective of American foreign policy. And if they put Jews into gas chambers in the Soviet Union, it is not an American concern. Maybe a humanitarian concern.”

This is astounding. This is an endorsement of a second “Holocaust,” which thankfully did not take place.:  Kissinger fancies himself to be practicing “Realpolitik.” : He is nothing but a preening opportunist.:

Mark Whittington of Yahoo.com: thinks what Kissinger said is horrible, but not unusual in the context of American foreign policy.:

“Franklin Roosevelt, who was every bit the racist and anti-semite that Hitchens describes Nixon as being, though not as foul-mouthed, was indifferent to the actual holocaust that was consuming 6 million Jews, among other people, while World War II raged. Proposals to bomb the gas chambers or the rail lines leading to the death camps fell on deaf ears.

Truth to tell, indifference to the suffering of other people is a long tradition in American foreign policy circles, particularly on the Left. Opponents of the Vietnam War were at first deniers that our abandonment of South East Asia would result in mass death and then indifferent to the actual fact of millions put to death and millions more made refugees.:

Advocates for a bug out in Iraq in 2006-08 shrugged at the idea of a repeat of the South East Asian Holocaust in the Tigris-Euphrates Valley; they had pleasant visions of the last helicopter leaving the Green Zone as Baghdad went up in flames. In this year of 2010, the same people find the prospect of the Taliban returning to rule in Afghanistan and all that implies leaves them cold.”:

Reaction in Israel is justifiable shock::  “Shocking Nixon-Kissinger Tapes: ‘So What if Soviets Gas Jews’”:

If it is true that there is history of cruel indifference in American foreign policy, that still makes no excuse for Kissinger.:  : His life has “bridged” many presidents. : His : career should have : benefitted : from the mistakes of the past.: :  At a minimum he should have the moral base of a Jew compassionate for other Jews.:  : : : :

Henry Kissinger: another Nobel Peace prize hall of shame winner with triple-tongued Jimmy Carter and the AIDs-ridden boy-buggerer Yasser Arafat.:

I never trusted the marble-mouthed Henry Kissinger and could never understand why he carried so much “gravitas” with the world.:  My perception was that he was condescending, dismissive and way over-rated.:  It seemed like he was always involved in some project of state, but never really had a completely satisfying “finish” to anything.: :

: He has had so many questionable involvements: the genocide in East Timor, his coziness with the brutal Chinese regime and myopia about the protest at Tienenman Square, the “secret” bombings of Cambodia.:  He accepted a Nobel Peace Prize for his “peace treaty” to end his disastrous management of the Vietnam War, a prize which was shared with : his Vietnamese counterpart but : declined.:  Le Duc Tho: saw the Nobel Prize and Henry Kissinger for what they were.:  I blame the: mass genocides after Vietnam on Kissinger.:  Failure to account for our POW/MIAs in Vietnam rests on his shoulders. :  He has sided with the dictator/strongman in many struggles.:  Many of the leaders who trusted him came to a bad end for doing so.

In a TV and radio address, outgoing President Nguyen Van Thieu said his forces had failed to stop the advance of the Vietcong because of lack of funds promised to him by the Americans.:

In a scathing attack on the US, he suggested US Secretary of State Dr Henry Kissinger had tricked him into signing the Paris peace agreement two years ago, promising military aid which then failed to materialise.:

“At the time of the peace agreement the United States agreed to replace equipment on a one-by-one basis,” he said. “But the United States did not keep its word. Is an American’s word reliable these days?”:

He continued: “The United States did not keep its promise to help us fight for freedom and it was in the same fight that the United States lost 50,000 of its young men.”:

I agree with Christopher Hitchens about Kissinger’s rightful place in history and society given this final revelation of anti-Semitism.:  There must be consequences in history. :  Henry Kissinger should be made persona non grata everywhere.:

“It’s hard to know how to classify this observation in the taxonomy of obscenity. Should it be counted as tactical Holocaust pre-denial? That would be too mild. It’s actually a bit more like advance permission for another Holocaust. Which is why I wonder how long the official spokesmen of American Jewry are going to keep so quiet. Nothing remotely as revolting as this was ever uttered by Jesse Jackson or even Mel Gibson, to name only two famous targets of the wrath of the Anti-Defamation League. Where is the outrage? Is Kissinger – normally beseeched for comments on subjects about which he knows little or nothing – going to be able to sit out requests from the media that he clarify this statement? Does he get to keep his op-ed perch in reputable newspapers with nothing said? Will the publishers of his mendacious and purloined memoirs continue to give him expensive lunches as if nothing has happened?’

[…]

Henry Kissinger should have the door shut in his face by every decent person and should be shamed, ostracized and excluded. No more dinners in his honour; no more respectful audiences for his absurdly overpriced public appearances; no more smirking photographs with hostesses and celebrities; no more soliciting of his worthless opinions by sycophantic editors and producers. One could have demanded this at almost any time during the years since his role as the only unindicted conspirator in the Nixon/Watergate gang, and since the exposure of his war crimes and crimes against humanity in Indochina, Chile, Argentina, Cyprus, East Timor and several other places. But the latest revelations from the Nixon Library might perhaps turn the scale at last.”

We finally know the truth about Henry Kissinger.:  It should ruin him and cannot be excused.:
