Injustice Department Backs Slacker Muslims
Written By : Dave Blount

Islam surely has a friend in our government. While our rulers’ plans to use our money to help build a massive shrine to Islamic terrorism at Ground Zero get most of the attention, countless other stories play out in the shadows — like this one:

Federal officials say a JBS Swift & Co. meatpacking plant should give Muslim employees prayer time and not retaliate against workers who ask to pray. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a lawsuit Monday on behalf of more than 80 Somali Muslims. …

Hundreds of Muslim workers walked off the job at the Grand Island, Neb., plant during Ramadan in 2008, saying they needed time to pray at sunset and break a day-long fast. Management adjusted the work schedule the next day. Non-Muslims protested and the accommodations ended.

The accommodations ended for now, that is. Eight-six Muslims were fired for walking off the job, but they’ll be back, as will their special privileges. We infidels will just have to work a little harder to pick up the slack.

Try to imagine Christians refusing to work because they’re too busy praying, getting fired for walking out, then having the full force of the federal government come crashing down on the employers on their behalf.

I didn't know there *were* any slacker Muslims. I thought they all spent all of their waking hours attempting to destry the West. [sigh of *relief*] Allah be praised.

  • Tom_pinko_Delay

I agree. Prayer is a waste of time.

    • StanW

It is, so long as your are praying incorrectly. Praying to Gaia, or your latest political diety, or the pedophile prophet is a compete waste of time.

Prayer directed to the God of the Universe is always worth the time, Pinko.

      • Tom_pinko_Delay

        What about Vishnu?

        • StanW

Also a waste of time, Pinko? Got any more dieties in your pocket you want to throw out? I'll save you the time… SAME ANSWER!

          • Tom_pinko_Delay

Sorry the question mark at the end of the first sentence is throwing me there. Just to clarify, are you saying that prayer to Vishnu is a waste of time?

          • StanW

Stop being a jerk, Pinko. You know what I meant.

          • Toastrider

Mock Thor at your own peril, weakling.

            *cracks knuckles*

          • StanW

I laugh at Thor and his puny little hammer.

            BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

          • Mahatma

As always, stanley, the last word is yours.

          • StanW

Still trying to get in the last word, Vega? How pathetic!

          • Jane

It may be a waste of time to pray to Vishnu, but if it is it's a waste every bit as profound as praying to the Christian God of the Bible, given that their existence are both predicated on the same kind of faith.

          • StanW

You could not be more wrong, Jane. And you should be used to that by now.

          • Jane

Educate me. How is your faith different from the Jewish or Hindu or Buddhist or muslim faith.

          • TheDickNixon

It's the true faith. Islam is a false, pagan religion. The Jews are the chosen people of God the Father.

            Really, get educated.

          • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

The fundamental difference is that Christianity is about what has been done for sinners, outside of them, in history rather than what individuals do for themselves through works of penitence and effort to receive reward.

That, and Christianity has proved a net positive for its cultures and civilizations as opposed to Buddhism and Hinduism which ground theirs to a near-stasis and in the case of Hinduism lock people into inescapable class structures.

          • Jane

Perhaps…to everything you say. But that's beside the point. Im wondering how the nature of one's faith in the christian god is different from the nature of faith others have in other Gods.

          • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

I just explained. Unless you're asking a question about the quality of faith, in which there is no basic difference. The faith you have that your spouse loves you and that your car will start is the same kind of thing as faith in a savior of the world.

What matters is the object of the faith, not the faith its self. The more worthy, great, and powerful the object of your faith, the more significant it becomes. Faith in a mythical idol is thus significantly diminished when compared to faith in an almighty, all knowing, all wise, just, righteous, and loving God.

          • StanW

Are you kidding? Do you think all of these faiths are the same?

            Jane, you are pathetic.

          • Jane

What I mean to ask is how is the nature of your faith different from the nature of the faith other's have.

          • sabiticus

This is stupidly akin to saying all buildings made of the same kind of bricks are the same.

      • Jane

Which God of the Universe? The Christian? The Muslim? The Jewish? The Norse? The American Indian?

I know, I know. Your God is the one and only God.

        • StanW

          Yes, He is Jane.

And the Muslims believe that THEIR God is the only one. Same as the Jews. Most every major religion has that type of exclusivity in their faith. Funny how only Christians are being demanded to set that aside and be tolerant of others, by bigots like you.

          • Jane

Christians are being asked to set aside their belief that their God is the only God? Really? LOL…Where?

          • StanW

Christians are denegrated, LIKE YOU DID, for believing that their is the only way to heaven. And that is wiyhout ever acknowleging that opther faiths have the same restriction.

          • Jane

            And like muslims are??

        • TheDickNixon

          There is no muslim god.

    • mightysamurai

What the Hell was the purpose of that comment? What possible reason could you have had for saying that other than blatant trolling?

      • Toastrider

Keyboard wired to 'special' underpants; stimulated by typing inane things.

      • Mahatma

Are you referring to Abir? If so I agree.

    • Mahatma

      But sex is good!

  • http://www.facebook.com/abirmandal Abir Mandal

    fuck allah

  • mightysamurai

Federal officials say a JBS Swift & Co. meatpacking plant should give Muslim employees prayer time and not retaliate against workers who ask to pray.

I agree that they should do this. But I question whether they should have to do this.

Who are these “federal officials” to dictate how a private business is “allowed” to run its own affairs?

    • Mahatma

Then you must be upset with the fact that the Swift Plant was busted for using illegal aliens a few years ago by <the government<=”" i=”">. So losing that source of cheap labor they have begun using (Muslim) political refugees from Somalia. And to find out they have employee problems due to that pesky Ramadan. What is happening to this world when you can't just hire fureners for a pittance and expect them to keep their mouths shut.</the>

      • mightysamurai

Would you care to rephrase that into, y'know, actual English?

    • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

Given that the Koran never states when you must pray, just how often, there's no need to adjust the work schedule to accommodate these people.

  • Jane

While these muslims ask for a little while to pray, Christians get an entire day off for Christmas. It's a national holiday.

Please, let's not be too offended.

    • StanW

Haven't you read the papers in the last decade or so, Jane? that is now Winter Holiday. Many business and schools will not even acknowledge Christmas or that it even exists.

      Yeah, you are THAT clueless.

      • Jane

And this is very good news, indeed.

        • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

Has the fact that your entire argument above crumbles with this admission sunk into your consciousness yet?

        • StanW

Yes, you would think so, bigot.

    • the_hawk

Not very clever, Jane. Even non-Christians get that day off.

      • Mahatma

Well I'm down with that. Can I get Ramadan off too?

    • TheDickNixon

It's a Federal Government holiday. Please, educate yourself, your stupidity is showing every time you post.

I'm sure that as I write this, there's a greedy SEIU organiser-type rubbing his hands together and muttering “Yeah, that's the ticket. We'll get 'em all to convert to Islam, then we'll hit those bastard bosses with demands for five prayer breaks a day and a few more holidays. They'll never know what hit 'em!”

  • UFKA_Smithwick

I have a fair solution here: how about muslims get the exact same break times as everyone else and if they choose to use them for prayer that would be fine.
