Morons At A Ground Zero Mosque Protest
Written By : John Hawkins

The whole idea of having a mosque at Ground Zero is an abomination. It’s nothing less than an attempt by radical Muslims to celebrate the death of 3,000 Americans at the hands of Al-Qaeda while laughing at the stupidity of Americans who are willing to give them a pass in the name of political   correctness.

So, it’s natural that there  are  angry protests about this utterly despicable attempt to defile the dead. Yet and still, this IS NOT the way to do it,

At one point, a portion of the crowd menacingly surrounded two Egyptian men who were speaking Arabic and were thought to be Muslims.

“Go home,” several shouted from the crowd.

“Get out,” others shouted.

In fact, the two men – Joseph Nassralla and Karam El Masry — were not Muslims at all. They turned out to be Egyptian Coptic Christians who work for a California-based Christian satellite TV station called “The Way.” Both said they had come to protest the mosque.

“I’m a Christian,” Nassralla shouted to the crowd, his eyes bulging and beads of sweat rolling down his face.

But it was no use. The protesters had become so angry at what they thought were Muslims that New York City police officers had to rush in and pull Nassralla and El Masry to safety.

“I flew nine hours in an airplane to come here,” a frustrated Nassralla said afterward.

What unbelievable morons!

First of all, it’s un-American and flat-out unconservative to say that people aren’t welcome to be on the same side as you are at a protest because of their race or religion. If it bugs you so much that there might be someone of a different race or  religion in the crowd with you, become a socialist, join the KKK or the Nazi party, and vote for the Democrats. The Democrats have been ginning up this sort of hatred since they were formed and the targets just change from time to time. That’s how they do things. That’s not how we do things — and it’s not going to be. If you don’t like it, get the hell out of our movement.

Setting that aside, every moderate Muslim in America should be up in arms about this mosque. It’s nothing less than people claiming to be moderate Muslims trampling on the graves of the people who died  on 9/11. If you’re a moderate Muslim, you should be speaking out today exactly the same way that Christians did after George Tiller was murdered. That is occurring, although the voices of dissent from Muslims should be much, much louder. In fact, there should swarms of Muslims protesting the mosque at Ground Zero — but, of course, no one wants to show up to do the right thing and get screamed at by idiots. How embarrassing is it to have people getting on a plane, flying out to New York to support the cause, and being treated like that? It’s outrageous.

Last but not least, hey idiots, they weren’t even Muslims. Did that handful of cretins in the crowd even know what Coptic Christians are? They shouldn’t be yelling at anybody, but if they’re going to do it, could they at least educate themselves enough to know who the hell they’re angry at?

Let me tell you something: You don’t win battles like this by coming off like fascists, screaming at people in the street — especially people on your side. If you’re angry, get angry at the radicals building this mosque. Get angry at the oblivious politicians in New York who are willing to debase the memory of all the people who were murdered at the World Trade Center in the name of political correctness. Those are the people you should be angry at, not a couple of Coptic Christians trying to stand up and do the right thing.

    You just made my day.

  • Mr. EMT

Next time muslims protest for religious freedom John are you going to stand behind their lines and help them?
Just curious if you would expect them to be rational and open minded when your pasty white face shows up to “help” out.

    • D-Vega

I will. Because that's one of the fundamental principles this nation was founded on.

Bravo to Mr. Hawkins in denouncing this nonsense, which is not representative or welcome in the City of New York.

Muslims are part of the fabric of NYC, have been for generations. If these people want to protest, fine. But don't try to intimidate New Yorkers, or you may experience a surprise.

One thing though. This mosque is not being built on Ground Zero. It's a few blocks from it. It's only at Ground Zero in the sense that it's in lower Manhattan. And there are already mosques (this building is not a mosque, btw) in lower manhattan.

      • StanW

The building has a mosque on it's top floor, Vega.

You can continue to lie all you want, but this is a mosque and a holy place to Muslims within sight of Ground Zero.

        • D-Vega

So it's not a mosque. It's a cultural center with a mosque in it.

          Thank you Stan.

          • StanW

So you admit that it IS a mosque and you are nothing but a lying SOB. Thanks for admitting what we all already Vega!

          • whats_up

Stanley I see you still cant read, Vega said “It's a cultural center with a mosque in it.” What part of that are you struggling with, the cultural or the center. Imbicile

          • StanW

I am not struggling at all, crthns. It is a mosque. You and Vega have been lying about it for weeks, telling us that it was ONLY a cultural center and not a religious place of worship. THAT IS A LIE! A Church that has a cultural center and an auditorium is still a church.

Although he is still a lying coward, Vega did actually admit yesterday that it was a mosque before running away.

          • Christopher_Taylor

The key here is that its a holy place for Muslims (and any land which has been owned by a Muslim, according to the Koran, is perpetually and for eternity Muslim land). That's a pretty key feature of the place.

Its a victory monument metaphorically built on the bones of people murdered by Muslim radicals and the New York City officials were stupid and weak enough to approve it.

      • Mr. EMT

And would anyone be shocked or outraged to hear that a white person showed up to a muslim rally and was treated rudely? Dare ya to try.
And I guarantee you wouldn't dare try to show up to a muslim religious protest wearing a yarmulke.

Even though I respect their right to their beliefs as long as they do not infringe on other peoples rights and beliefs (which from a muslim standpoint is religious persecution when you do not allow them to honor kill their family members and rape and torture their infidel neighbors)

    • whats_up

I guess you dont believe in American ideals, you know like relegious freedom. If you hate this country so much, leave.

  • Pork_Soda

Never give the enemy the rope to hang you with, no matter how pissed off you might be.

    • Mr. EMT

My grandcestors grew their hair long to challenge our enemies to come and try to take it.
Think I wouldn't hand someone rope to try to use on me?
I feed people rope all the time.

  • Christopher_Taylor

Yeah, that's really sad, but its typical of the mob. Unfortunately its rare to have a large group of people so driven by a cause and willing to show up somewhere to make a public statement without them being mindless, stupid, and offensive. That's why the tea party amazes me so much in its polite and dignified nature, so far.

  • Tom_pinko_Delay

That's not how we do things -

Umm, it looks like exactly how you do things. Macacca, anyone?

    • Bthewolf

You mean made up words that ignorant lefties swore had racial overtones despite no clear proof of the word ever implying race???

    • StanW

Making up words again, huh CRIMINAL.

Stop projecting your abject stupidity on others, Tom.

    • TheDickNixon

Mydicka? See, Nixon can make up a word too, TPD. Your attempt at threadjacking = epic fail.

    • mightysamurai

Dude, one of the left's most treasured icons just got caught on tape telling the Jews to “go back where they came from”.

You have precisely ZERO moral high ground here.

  • UFKA_Smithwick

Foolish and probably a legitimate act of racism (rather than the 10,000/day accusations we hear on a normal basis). Those are exactly the types of people you want on your side.

  • http://vibramshoesonline.com/ vibram fivefingers

I really like this type of Merchandise too, can you help me look at which one has higher price point?
    http://vibramshoesonline.com/

  • Brianna

Thank you for your article. The fact that we call out and repudiate such incidents instead of sweeping them under the rug and washing them away with verbal rhetoric is what makes us different from the Left.

  • rybbe

John, I tried looking up this Coptic Christian group online but not sure which group it is. Will you please find out more about Mr. Nassralla and Mr. El Masry so we may contact them somehow and let them know that the oafs they encountered at the protest DO NOT relect how we feel. I would have loved to join them at the protest and talk with them about how they feel about the mosque too. This is just the type of situation that the left is waiting to pounce on.

  • CatK280

Your use of the word “Moron” makes me think you are actually a true leftist. Leftists tend to use defmatory and insulting language and to lack manners.
American people and New Yorkers are feeling frustrated, betrayed and suspicious of a false moderate Islam that has a smiley face and yet in its own tongue a message of hate.
So, if at a glance, an incorrect assumption based on appearances resulted in a mistake – that is to be expected and forgiven without the leftist-like use of a derogatory word. Perhaps, the Coptic Christian gentlemen could have thought this through in advance and had a sign with them that espoused their view.
I know everyday in every way I am condemned because of my background. I take in on the chin. So should these two gents and the author of this childish article.
Our government has turned against everyday American citizens.
Our governemnt has turned against Israel and the Jewish people.
Our governemnt mocks the 2001 murder of 3,000 New Yorkers.
Sure some folks are hot under the collar.
If you don't understand this you must be a leftist!

  • I can read

Read the letter from these men on Atlas Shrugs, the mix up came because they were speaking arabic and handing out materials with quotes from the Koran, they said that once they explained they were there to protest the mosque too, the people calmed down. This is a grossly exaggerated account of what happened. Maybe using more than one source would help next time.
