War on Christmas: Trump Vows to Bring Back ‘Merry Christmas’ & Promote Christianity [Video]

Seriously? I take Donald Trump at his word[1] that he wants to bring back ‘Merry Christmas’ and promote Christianity. And I am not sure that saying ‘Happy Holidays’ and then saying ‘Merry Christmas’ is in line with evolving. Trump is a businessman as I have pointed out many times before. He’s going to look at what is the norm for a given year and trending. Then he will craft his business message accordingly. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t believe in or support Christmas. I say ‘Happy Holidays’ and ‘Merry Christmas’ too and I’m what some would call a fairly devout Christian. Trump is being blunt on where he comes down on this issue and he’s sick of the politically correct environment that has brainwashed all of us into not mentioning Christmas anymore. I applaud him for it.

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump staked out his ground in the ongoing “War on Christmas,” and there was little question on which side of the battle a Trump administration will stand.

Some will suggest, however, he must have evolved on the issue over the years.

“The word Christmas — I love Christmas, I love Christmas — you go to stores now and you don’t see the word Christmas, it says ‘Happy Holidays,’” Trump said Friday at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C.

“Remember the expression ‘Merry Christmas?’ You don’t see it anymore,” he added. “You’re going to see it if I get elected, I can tell you right now.”

The position is consistent with what Trump said in August during an interview on Yellowhammer Radio with Cliff Sims, according to the Daily Caller[3].

“There’s an assault on anything having to do with Christianity,” he said then. “They don’t want to use the word Christmas anymore at department stores.”

“I go out of my way to use the word Christmas,” Trump added.

A scan of social media by Mediaite found that while Trump commented a few years back that most people prefer “Merry Christmas,” the real estate tycoon was not above opting for “Happy Holidays.”

And the left-leaning site, Right Wing Watch, captured an image of a recent holiday message from Trump Hotels that also featured “Happy Holidays” over “Merry Christmas.”

Right Wing Watch is a scummy, hateful web site. I never quote them or show their videos unless I have to. It figures they would focus on something that means virtually nothing. There is an all-out assault on Christianity here in the US by Marxists and their followers. We are still the majority and even if we weren’t, Christians have a constitutional right to their beliefs and their holidays, just like any other faith does. I think twice anymore and go out of my way as well to say ‘Merry Christmas.’ My family has reverted to a simpler and more faith-based version of the holiday. In the War on Christmas, Trump has made it plain on which side he stands and I stand with him on this. I’m sick of this Marxist bah humbug crap every year. It’s time to bring back the best holiday of the year and celebrate it the way it was meant to be celebrated.
