BREAKING: Trump Calls for New Election in Iowa, Accuses Ted Cruz of Fraud
This really, really ticks me off. It is taking everything I have not to unleash a stream of invective against Trump here. He just came out on Twitter and accused Ted Cruz of election fraud in Iowa and says that the Iowa Caucus should be nullified. Bull crap! I have said all along I would vote for Trump if he wins the nomination, but I am getting perilously close to reconsidering that statement. This goes beyond the pale. Talk about petulant and immature. Cruz’s campaign dismissed Trump’s claims on Twitter with humor. They are better people than I am. “Reality hit the realty TV star in Iowa, so nobody is talking about him now, so he’s trying to regain some attention on Twitter,” Cruz communications director Rick Tyler told CNN. “There are Twitter addiction support groups, so he should seek out his local chapter.” I couldn’t agree more.
From Donald Trump/Twitter:
Based on the fraud committed by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified.
Trump initially tweeted that Cruz “illegally stole” the Iowa caucuses, before deleting the tweet and tweeting again without the word “illegaly.” Minutes later, Trump tweeted that “during primetime of the Iowa Caucus, Cruz put out a release that @RealBenCarson was quitting the race, and to caucus (or vote) for Cruz.” “Many people voted for Cruz over Carson because of this Cruz fraud,” Trump said of the Cruz campaign’s caucus day actions. That’s not true. CNN started the rumor by implying that Carson had dropped out. Cruz’s campaign ran with it and Cruz has apologized to Carson for his campaign not putting out a release after the fact that the media got it wrong and they picked up on it. The accusations being leveled at Cruz here are untrue and unfair and Donald Trump should be ashamed of himself for using it as leverage in an election. Perhaps it is cover because he is not thoroughly addressing real issues and he got his feelings hurt in Iowa. Pathetic.
