Duck Dynasty’s Willie Robertson Goes for The Donald: “I do like me some Trump.” [Video]

You just gotta love it! I’m sure that Willie Robertson was not in that crowd at the Oklahoma State Fair by accident. Trump took Oklahoma by storm and they loved him there! He called up Willie Robertson and asked him if he ‘loved’ Trump. Willie obliged and said, “I do like me some Trump, I gotta admit.” Ever the diplomat and the marketer, Willie gave nods to both of their businesses and their wives. He’s probably also impressed that Trump is standing strong for Christianity these days, as Willie Robertson is a devout Christian. Both Phil and Willie Robertson have recently given nods to and showed support of Donald Trump. Hot on the heels of Sarah Palin enthusiastically supporting the Trumpster. I’m sure this is causing a meltdown in certain quarters, but it is certainly fun to watch.

Willie Robertson

From Young Conservatives:

Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson hasn’t been shy when it comes to his political preferences this election cycle. Earlier this year, Robertson endorsed Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal. Unfortunately, Jindal’s campaign has been unable to gain traction, and as a result, he’s only participated in the “kiddie” debates.

Jindal’s been an outspoken critic of The Donald, and so far, that hasn’t helped anyone advance in the race. Now, I don’t know if Willie Robertson realizes that Jindal’s days in the race are numbered, but heaped praises on Trump after the business mogul called him up on stage at the Oklahoma State Fair.

From The Daily Mail:

Just minutes after taking to the platform in Oklahoma City, Trump called Robertson up with him, asking if he ‘loved Trump’.

Willie said: ‘I do like me some Trump, I gotta admit.

‘Here’s the deal. We’re both successful businessmen. We both have pretty big shows on television. We both have wives that are 1,000 times better looking than us, so I like Trump.’

At the same time, it would’ve been kind of awkward if he called Robertson on stage and he was all, “Eh. No. I don’t really like you.” But he probably does have a genuine appreciation for Trump– at least businessman to businessman.

The Republican front runner also spoke of why he decided to run for the party’s nomination, saying it had been painful to watch John McCain and Mitt Romney lose to President Obama in previous years.

‘We have many difficulties. Our biggest difficulty is our politicians who are all talk and no action. They keep working they just want one thing: they want their job renewed every two or four years.

I’ve had mixed feelings on The Donald since he jumped in the race. While I appreciate the way he sticks it to the media, he goes of the rails a lot.

Sure, I think he’s the medicine that the party needs right now. The cherry cough syrup. It doesn’t taste the best going down, but you know it’s going to help in the long run. If it wasn’t for Trump mixing up the race and spinning establishment heads, they’d be shoving Jeb Bush down our throats right about now. So we can at least appreciate that.

From the beginning, I thought Trump would be our bulldozer. He’s ruffling feathers, getting people talking and saying things other candidates could NEVER get away with. He’s been chummy with Sen. Ted Cruz, and I originally thought Trump would eventually dip out and encourage his supporters to back Cruz.

Now, I’m not so sure. But a girl can dream, right?

Regardless of what you hear on Fox News, Trump is still gaining ground in the polls and leading his nearest contender by double digits. The media and the RINOs love to hate Donald Trump. Word has it that Fox News is in the tank for Jeb Bush, the Joyful Tortoise. We’ll just see about that. I’m still in it for Ted Cruz, but Trump is greatly entertaining and far better than most. No way am I voting for Carly Fiorina… she’s Jeb Bush in drag. The jury is out on Rubio, but I don’t trust him. I like Ben Carson and I adore Ted Cruz. Right now though, I love me some Trump too.
