John Boehner’s Press Guy Humiliates The White House On Health Care

Folks, very rarely do I post press releases/emails from political operatives, but this one that I received today from Michael Steel, John Boehner’s press secretary, was so full of awesome that it just had to go up. Enjoy!

Folks — Yesterday, after Press Secretary Robert Gibbs offered to post the Republican health care plan on the White House website, Politico reported that the House Republican proposal already is linked on the White House website. You’d think the press office would be embarrassed enough to drop that particular talking point, given that our plan has been online for months, was discussed by the President in Baltimore, and is actually already on their own website.

Instead, they doubled down. This morning, Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer penned a post on the White House blog making the same argument.

Bear in mind, at this point, the White House’s “plan” consists of an 11-page outline, which has not been scored by the Congressional Budget Office or posted online as legislative text. So they want to reorganize one-sixth of the United States’ economy with a document shorter than a comic book, and they’re complaining that they can’t find our plan on their own website? C’mon – steel

The fact that he writes White House “plan” is just golden snark! Also, the last line? It’s so good that I have to post it again:

So they want to reorganize one-sixth of the United States’ economy with a document shorter than a comic book, and they’re complaining that they can’t find our plan on their own website?

You gotta love it!
