Irreparable Damage to Latino Community: What a terrible insult.” Former Rep. Herman Badillo’s widow rips Mayor de Blasio for lack of condolences

I don’t think Comrade de Blasio did to himself with the Latino community. It was inexcusable for him not to attend Herman Badillo funeral.

NY Daily News reports former Rep. Herman Badillo’s widow is furious that Mayor de Blasio didn’t attend Badillo’s funeral on Sunday, or even call, as Hillary Clinton did.

“What a terrible insult. What a terrible insult,” Gail Badillo told radio host Geraldo Rivera in an interview Monday, referring to de Blasio’s absence at the service. Former Mayors David Dinkins and Rudy Giuliani were in attendance.

The first Puerto Rican-born congressman, Badillo was a trailblazer in local and national politics. He died last week at age 85.

“Here the mayor is supposed to represent all the people, and there are a few Hispanics in this city, maybe he should take notice,” Roberts said.

“Not even a phone call,” she added. “Hillary Clinton called.”

Rivera also blasted de Blasio for the missed appearance. “Shame on Mayor Di Blasio for missing funeral of late Rep Herman Badillo-Just spoke with Gail, his widow, she confirms mayor didn’t even call,” he tweeted.
