83-yr-old MILLIONAIRE was ‘beaten to death with a fire extinguisher’ NOT the usual suspects!

The 83-year-old wife of a millionaire McDonald’s franchisee was found violently beaten to death inside her family’s hilltop estate. The shocking discovery has put the people of this New York City suburb on alert and they have been warned to stay vigilant until what really happened can be made clear to authorities.

New York State Police say socialite Lois Colley was found dead by a caretaker on Monday in the laundry room adjacent to the garage in the family’s $3million home named ‘Windswept Farm’.

At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, police said Colley died of blunt force trauma and that the murder weapon may be a small fire extinguisher that appears to be the only item missing from the home. An autopsy revealed that she had been hit over the head.

Sources say it’s possible that she could have been murdered by burglars.

‘It looks like a burglary that she might have walked in on. She was found by a caretaker who immediately calls the husband,’ a source told the New York Post.

So far, police say the caretaker is not a suspect, nor is Colley’s 88-year-old husband Eugene, though they don’t currently know his whereabouts.

Investigators said Colley was murdered sometime between 3 and 5pm on Monday, and that there was no sign of forced entry.

‘We’re asking public to remain vigilant and alert,’ State Police Lt. Paul DeQuarto said of the investigation.

The 300-acre estates is just down the road from police headquarters. The home is not visible from the main road.

North Salem is known for its horse farms, and is also home to the heiress Georgina Bloomberg- a professional equestrian and daughter of former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
