Another President once faced a Border Invasion… His Response Puts Obama to Shame

When it comes to Presidents, none get more gritty and straight to the point than World War II general Dwight D. Eisenhower.  In 1954, Ike was dealing with a new influx of millions of illegal immigrants and more were coming everyday.  Instead of capitulating to the demands of illegal immigrants, Eisenhower chose a different path.

Eisenhower[1]

“With the help of retired Gen. Joseph “Jumpin’ Joe” Swing, commissioner of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, Eisenhower launched a ground-breaking capture and deport operation to root out illegals.

A squadron of about 1000 Border Patrol agents began sweeping through the most badly hit states in search of illegals. Within months, millions of illegals were either caught and forcibly removed or voluntarily left out of outright fear.”

Perhaps President Obama can take a page out of the Eisenhower playbook and do this novel concept called “enforcing the law.”  The narrative that “nothing can be done” is going to have to ignore this historical example! All I know is that when it comes to immigration policy, I Like Ike.
