Blame Sharpton and De Blasio: 2 NYPD Cops shot dead in patrol car ambush Bed-Stuy Brooklyn one week after angry protestors called for the killing of police officers
I hold Mayor De Blasio and Al Sharpton responsible for stoking racial tensions in this city.
Last week protestors chanted, “What do we want? Dead Cops! When do we want it? Now?”
Neither Mayor De Blasio nor Al Sharpton condemn such a display and now we have two dead cops.
Fox News reports two New York City police officer were shot and killed Saturday after they were shot by a gunman as they sat inside a patrol car.
The attack took place in Brooklyn at around 3 p.m., the New York Daily News reported. “The perp came out of the houses, walked up behind the car and lit them up,” a high-ranking police official told the Daily News.
An NYPD spokesman confirmed to Fox News that two officers were shot in the incident and were immediately moved to a nearby hospital. Police later told The Associated Press that both officers died from their injuries..
The New York Post reported that both officers were shot in the head at point-blank range.
“It’s an execution,” one law enforcement source told The Post.
The gunman just started “pumping bullets” into the patrol car, another source said. The suspect then fled to a nearby subway station before he shot and killed himself. The shooting comes at a time when police in New York and nationwide have been criticized by some over the circumstances surrounding the chokehold death of Eric Garner, a black man who was stopped by police for selling loose, untaxed cigarettes.
Demonstrators around the country have protests since a grand jury decided on Dec. 3 not to indict the officer involved in Garner’s death, a decision that closely followed a Missouri grand jury’s decision not to indict a Officer Darren Wilson in the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown.
