Boyfriend puts his girlfriend’s tot in the car, but when he comes back outside he has to call the police

child2This is a severe lesson that you can never be too cautious when it comes to watching your kids or your cars. Never leave a young child unsupervised in a vehicle with the keys in the car, even for a minute.

LiftBump reports,

According to WJAX, Lonzie’s mom’s boyfriend put Lonzie and his five-year-old sister in his car around 2:30 am Friday to pick up their mother from work.

Before leaving, the boyfriend ran back inside for a moment with the little girl in tow, because she was scared.

When the boyfriend went back outside, he tells police, he saw someone take off with his car with the little boy still inside.

The Jacksonville’s Sheriffs Office said that Lonzie was not strapped in his carseat at the time the vehicle was suspected to have been stolen.

The vehicle was found blocks away from the boyfriend’s apartment. Lonzie was not inside.

This tragic event could have been avoided. Anyone who has any information regarding Lonzie Barton should call 904-630-0500 or the FC Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
