Bullied As A Child, She Refused Plastic Surgery. Now Her Striking Feature is Helping Her Career

Cassandra Naud, a professional dancer from Canada, was bullied all throughout school because of a birthmark on her face.  She had the opportunity to have in removed, but decided against it and is sharing her story[1].

“[I] told my mum that I’d prefer to keep my individuality… It was a moment of madness, but I’m so glad I made the decision to keep it.”

And now, she truly appreciates her uniqueness. In fact, she believes it to be helpful in making her more memorable in her career as a professional dancer.

“I’m so glad my parents chose to leave my birthmark as it’s part of who I am. Having a birthmark distinguishes me – and I don’t feel that it has ever held me back,” she said.

Her advice to all young girls is to not let bullies stop them and “be proud of your uniqueness.”  Amen to that!
