Dog the Bounty Hunter Gets HORRIBLE News… This Isn’t Good

Dog the Bounty Hunter was watching an episode of Crimestoppers when he saw a familiar face come across the screen as a suspect to a bank robbery back in September. It was a face he hadn’t seen for 10 years since the suspect was a child….and the news was heartbreaking.

Dog the Bounty Hunter’s stepdaughter was charged with second-degree robbery on Tuesday after she allegedly held up the Territorial Savings Bank in downtown Honolulu.

Nicole Gillespie, a 35-year-old homeless woman, was taken into custody on Sunday on suspicion of robbing the bank, Hawaii News Now reports. She is the daughter of one of the ex-wives of Dog, whose real name is Duane Chapman.

Gillespie is accused of robbing the Territorial Savings Bank on Sept. 3 by passing the teller a note before fleeing on foot, according to KITV. The incident was captured on surveillance footage.

In a statement, Dog and his wife, Beth Chapman, said they were “shocked and heartbroken” by Gillespie’s arrest, but emphasized that they hadn’t seen her in more than a decade.

“It’s always difficult and disheartening when someone you knew as a child [allegedly commits a crime],” the couple said, The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports.

“That is the case with Nicole Gillespie, who has been accused of robbing the Territorial Savings Bank on Bishop Street on Sept. 3. We have not seen ‘Nickie’ in over 10 years. Watching her on Crimestoppers left us all shocked and heartbroken.”

Gillespie has not yet entered a plea to the charge against her.

I was recently watching a re-run of COPS and saw a police chase end in the backyard of my Grandmother’s home when she was still alive. Although she wasn’t a part of the crime itself, it was still heartbreaking to watch. I can not imagine what it must have felt like for a person you care about to be the suspected criminal on t.v…. it has to be really tough.
