Duck Rustlers are Made to Sit with Dead Birds Stuffed in Their Mouths as Punishment for Their Crimes – Fowl Play?
Everyone knows stealing is wrong. It’s illegal in most places in the world, and common decency and morality dictates most of our actions. But for those of us without a moral compass, this Chinese village has an interesting punishment for you to deal with:
A Chinese village believes it has found a new and effective way of dealing with serial thieves – complete and utter humiliation.
The two 14-year-old boys in these photos were caught stealing ducks from a pond – one of a series of petty crimes they are accused of in their small village in the southern region of Guangxi.
In a bizarre punishment, they were made to kneel on the side of the road holding dead ducks in their mouths while a crowd looked on in amusement and motorists stopped to stare.
The boys were then forced to sling dead birds around their necks and walk through the town.
The village’s head, Yong Ku, said: ‘These teenagers have no respect for property or life so they have paid with their shame. They really needed to be taught a lesson.
‘They are always stealing to get money for drink or cigarettes. They are delinquents who do not have any respect for anyone in the area or indeed themselves.
‘But it is hard to look cool holding a dead duck in your mouth while you spit out feathers. Maybe this will deter them from further crime.’
Agree that its hard to “look cool” with a dead duck in your mouth. What about the ducks? Poor little guys seem like they are casualties in bizarre punishment land. Also, it seems just a bit unsanitary…maybe Chinese Health Officials will look into this. I guess anything goes in China.
