Families beware: Police now instantly seizing firearms from owners after they pass away

bflplcGun control advocates are getting more aggressive, using heavy-handed government smackdowns to stamp out firearms from law-abiding gun owners. Their latest method? Police in Buffalo, N.Y., are seizing guns from the recently deceased within days after they pass away, in order to stop their family members from inheriting them.

According to the Tea Party News Network,

Family members who are grieving the passing of a loved one must get their acts together pronto if they wish to avoid jail time. Family members have 15 days from the time of death to dispose of the gun or turn them into police who then can hold them for up to two years while a family member applies (begs) to the government regain the firearm.

Failure to do so results in a misdemeanor offense punishable by up to a year in jail and a fine.
Police will be cross referencing those who have recently died with those who are permitted for a firearm and seizing weapons when family members have not promptly complied with the law.

Meanwhile, the law only affects those who obeyed the law and registered the firearms. Gangbangers with a Saturday Night Special bought out of the back of a trunk, however, will remain armed and anonymous.
Gun control proponents have assured us for years that gun registration and background checks are not meant to create a universal database of gun owners – something which could later be used to round up firearms from gun owners. This now provides evidence they were lying. How would the police know who to go seize guns from, if they didn’t have a universal database? Police Commissioner Daniel Derrenda fully admitted, “We recently started a program where we’re cross referencing all the pistol permit holders with the death records, and we’re sending people out to collect the guns whenever possible…”
Gun owners in other states, most recently Washington state, have seen what is taking place in New York and are doing everything they can to stop forced background checks from taking place in their states too. It is terrifying this is now taking place in America.
