Firefighter responding to 911 call ends up saving his OWN FAMILY after finding car crashed into a pick-up truck

Well, this is terrifying, and every first responders worst nightmare.  Imagine being out on a call for a bad car accident, only to find out your wife and son were involved…

A Texas volunteer firefighter responding to a 911 call for a head-on collision had no idea he would end up saving his seven-year-old son and wife.

Aaron VanRiper reported to the scene of the incident where the car carrying his wife, Amber, and son, Jonathan ‘Bear’, was involved in a crash with a pickup truck near Riverside on Saturday.

The wife of the assistant chief for the Thomas Lake Road Volunteer Fire Department was listed in critical condition and underwent nine hours of surgery on Sunday to repair her pelvis, which was broken in five places.

His son thankfully left with only a broken arm and a leg. The mother is still in critical condition, but has shown improvement.  Prayers up!
