‘I pretended to be him’: TWIN Of Man In Prison Confesses ‘He Did It’ 11 YEARS AFTER The Murder!

In a plot twist reminiscent of a television movie, a twin has confessed to a murder for which his twin was convicted. 11 years ago, Kevin Dugar (below) was arrested, tried and convicted of the murder of rival gang members. He has served 11 years of his sentence.

His twin, Karl Smith (below), who is currently serving a 99-year sentence for attempted murder, home invasion and aggravated battery on a child, has stepped forward and confessed to the murders. ‘We was acting as one. Where I was, he was, acting like each other. He pretended to be me, and I pretended to be him,’ Smith said.

His confession is being looked at with suspicion by the state due to the fact that Karl has nothing to lose. He is already likely behind bars for the rest of his life. The state attorney thinks this confession is a little too convenient to be believed. But only time will tell how it all works out.

Judy Dugar, the mother of the boys, says she does not think Smith would lie. Which is interesting considering he is behind bars for murder and aggravated assault. Of course this upstanding citizen would not LIE, but he sure as heck will kill and shoot a 6 year-old in the head. But he would never LIE. Right.

Smith says he is confessing because he has come to faith in prison and wants to clear his conscience. This may or may not be true. He may or may not be lying. That’s for the Chicago justice system to sort out. You can’t make this stuff up.
