Parenting is tough. Being a celebrity parent packs on unique responsibilities and headaches. Some handle it well and some don’t.

Kelly Ripa handles it well. The mother of 3 and television star believes that dealing with her teenage kids is all about tough love.

On The Wendy Williams Show, she talked about how she balances being hard on her kids and still earning their respect. When show host Wendy Williams asked Ripa if her daughter liked her for the tough love, she said:

“No, I don’t think she likes me, but I don’t care… I’m not your friend, I’m your mom.”
She added that being a celebrity mom doesn’t mean her daughter—and kids—should be deluded into thinking they’re above reproach:

“I just feel an obligation as her mom to keep her living in the real world.”
Kudos to Kelly Ripa for handling her responsibilities with class. And, above all, for being a parent first.

Well I think having a celebrity salary helps too.
