Miracle On The Hudson

His name?

Captain Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger, III, a former USAF F-4 pilot.

What did he do[1]? Deadsticked an A320 Airbus into the Hudson River after he lost power in both engines due to birdstrikes and made a perfect landing.

The crew then took charge and got the 150+ passengers out of the aircraft and onto rafts and then boats. Before the first media had arrived to cover the event, the passengers had been evacuated, landed and were on their way to area hospitals. As usual, NY’s first responders were perfect.

There were no fatalites even though there were injuries. Freezing water, but no hypothermia because boats are on site within 3 minutes.

Heroic, miraculous, amazing.
