Obama Facing MAJOR Backlash After Demanding Media Do THIS To Trump

It may be true that the media has not scrutinized Donald Trump as much as they should have. However, the very last person on this Earth who has standing to gripe about this is Barack Obama – a man whose history is still a mystery to Americans and who was never, ever vetted to any substantial degree. Still, that didn’t stop the most-divisive president in history from hypocritically calling for increased scrutiny of Mr. Trump.

From the Independent Journal:

In a rare appearance at the White House briefing room today to discuss the economy, President Obama turned his sights on Donald Trump, warning the media, and the American public, writ large, that not delving into the past history of the presumptive Republican nominee would be a disservice to the democratic voting process:

“We are in serious times. This is not entertainment. This is not a reality show. This is a contest for presidency of the United States.”

Obama then aimed his comments directly at the reporters in the room, telling them he expects less coverage of tabloid-y headlines, and more about the substantive issues that Trump will likely espouse as general election campaigning gets underway.

“What I’m concerned about is the degree to which reporting and information starts emphasizing the spectacle and the circus. Because that’s not something we can afford,”

As if on cue, shortly thereafter, Obama was asked what he thought of Trump’s tweet about the taco bowl, which yesterday caused an uproar on social media and spread quickly to 24-hour news channels:

“I have no thoughts on Mr. Trump’s tweets. As a general rule, I don’t pay attention to Mr. Trump’s tweets. And I think that will be true for, I think, for the next six months. So, if you could just file that one.”

The president went on to say he’ll be paying attention to how the media report the news, taking care to both chide and warn the press that he is keeping tabs:

“The one thing I’m going to be looking for over the next six months is that the American people are effectively informed.”

Obama ticked off the things he thinks Trump needs to be called out on, or more thoroughly investigated, including international security, diplomacy with other countries, and the businessman’s plans for U.S. financial systems:

“[Trump] has a long record that needs to be examined. It’s important for us to take seriously the statements he’s made in the past….Every candidate, every nominee needs to be subjected to exacting standards and scrutiny.”

However, as the election surges forward, Obama will no doubt be asked to weigh in on many more instances of Donald Trump’s antics, as well as his policies and ideas.

It’s true that Trump has glided with relative ease thanks to the media. However, his road has been incredibly choppy when we consider the innumerable free passes offered to his opponent, Hillary Clinton.

Clinton’s scandals have a body count and rather than address these outrageous abuses of her position, the media allows Hillary to shrug-off these betrayals and the American voters learn nothing thanks to the compliance of the lapdog mainstream media.

If Obama wishes to complain about a lack of media scrutiny, he should start with his fellow Democrat.
