The Left’s Mask Starts To Slip…

Liberals tend to be insufferable when they feel like they’re really losing and when they feel like they’re really winning.

When the left feels like they’re losing, they get ugly and paranoid. They start talking about Nazis, being put in camps, conspiracy theories, and the start projecting their little fascist fantasies onto conservatives.

However, the left is even worse when they feel like they’re winning because they become toweringly arrogant and start revealing the revolting parts of their agenda that they usually lie about to the American people.

Today, the left feels like they’re winning and here are just some of things that they’re saying,

U.S. Rep. John Murtha says his home base of western Pennsylvania is racist and that could reduce Barack Obama’s victory margin in the state by 4 percentage points.

The 17-term Democratic congressman tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in a story posted Wednesday on its Web site that, as he put it: “There is no question that western Pennsylvania is a racist area.”

Incidentally, Bill Russell is running against Murtha this year and he could use your campaign contributions. Now, here’s Jesse Jackson,

PREPARE for a new America: That’s the message that the Rev. Jesse Jackson conveyed to participants in the first World Policy Forum, held at this French lakeside resort last week.

He promised “fundamental changes” in US foreign policy – saying America must “heal wounds” it has caused to other nations, revive its alliances and apologize for the “arrogance of the Bush administration.”

The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where “decades of putting Israel’s interests first” would end.

Jackson believes that, although “Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades” remain strong, they’ll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.

“Obama is about change,” Jackson told me in a wide-ranging conversation. “And the change that Obama promises is not limited to what we do in America itself. It is a change of the way America looks at the world and its place in it.”

Now, here’s Thomas “What’s the Matter With Kansas” Frank on unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers,

For days on end, the Republican presidential campaign has put nearly all of its remaining political capital on emphasizing Mr. Obama’s time on various foundation boards with Bill Ayers, a former member of the Weathermen, which planted bombs and issued preposterous statements in the Vietnam era. Some on the right seem to believe Mr. Ayers is Mr. Obama’s puppet-master, while others are content merely to insist that the association proves Mr. Obama to be soft on terrorism. Maybe he’s soft on anarchy and repudiation, too.

I can personally attest to the idiocy of it all because I am a friend of Mr. Ayers. In fact, I met him in the same way Mr. Obama says he did: 10 years ago, Mr. Ayers was a guy in my neighborhood in Chicago who knew something about fundraising. I knew nothing about it, I needed to learn, and a friend referred me to Bill.

…I do not defend the things Mr. Ayers did in his Weatherman days. Nor will I quibble with those who find Mr. Ayers wanting in contrition. His 2001 memoir is shot through with regret, but it lacks the abject style our culture prefers.

Instead I want to note that, in its haste to convict a man merely for associating with Mr. Ayers, the GOP is effectively proposing to make the upcoming election into the largest mass trial in history, with all those professors and all those do-gooders on the hook for someone else’s deeds four decades ago. Also in the dock: the demonic city (Chicago) that once named Mr. Ayers its “Citizen of the Year.” Fire up Hurricane Katrina and point it toward Lake Michigan!

He says that he doesn’t “defend the things Mr. Ayers did in his Weatherman days,” but that’s obviously not true. If Ayers thinks it was OK to commit terrorist acts against America and to try to kill American soldiers and Frank says Ayers is a good guy, what does that say about Frank?

Here’s something you need to understand about Ayers and the left: the average American is horrified by the idea of committing terrorist attacks against Americans and trying to kill American soldiers, but the average liberal is not. Let me repeat that because it is absolutely true and I want to make sure it sinks in: the average American is horrified by the idea of committing terrorist attacks against Americans and trying to kill American soldiers, but the average liberal is not. They won’t admit that because it makes them sound like horrible people, but it’s what they really believe. It’s also why Barack Obama and so many other liberals have associated with Ayers for so long and it’s why an unrepentant terrorist like Ayers is being allowed to teach college students at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).

Liberalism has a twisted, ugly soul and unless something changes, we’re going to get to see a lot more of it in the coming weeks and months.
