Thousands line the streets to pay their respects to murdered Chattanooga marine

Thousands of mourners gathered to pay their respects for Staff Sgt. David Wyatt, one of the Marines murdered in the recent Chattanooga shooting. He lived with his wife and two kids in Hixson, Tennessee.

Staff Sergeant David Wyatt, a married father of two, was one of four marines gunned down when Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez brazenly opened fire on a Naval Reserve base in the Tennessee city on July 16. A Navy petty officer was also murdered.

His family watched as his casket was carried out of Hixson United Methodist Church, placed in a hearse, and driven down the streets of the Tennessee city in a motorcade.

Mourners lined up on the side of the road, many holding American flags, as his body was taken to the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The Afghanistan and Iraq veteran was then given a 21-gun salute as the coffin was placed into the ground.
