A video of a skier cartwheeling down a mountain is going viral[1] and though the man’s plummet is not a perfect example of how to successfully navigate a downhill slope, his survival is miraculous. Check it out:

Canadian skier [3]Ian McIntosh is seeing one of his less successful moments on the slopes going viral.

Though, surviving a 1,600-foot fall in Alaska’s Neacola Mountains has to be termed a success in its own right.

Footage, released on 5 November by Teton Gravity Research, shows McIntosh cartwheeling down the mountainside for over 40 seconds, with his screams audible throughout.

According to a blog post on Teton Gravity’s website, McIntosh took off only to run into an unseen five foot deep trench on one of his first turns.

“From there, my slough took over and their was no way to stop, I pulled my airbag to help prevent against any possible trauma injuries as I tumbled to the bottom,” he said.

Teton Gravity Research co-founder Todd Jones said the incident “was the most terrifying crash I’ve ever seen.”

His survival is miraculous and because he survived the fall, the below video is incredible instead of being gruesome.
