Whoopi Goldberg Goes NUTS On ABC Execs: “I’s Just a N****r Following Orders Around Here, Master!”

In case you needed another reason to despise the constantly-obnoxious Whoopi Goldberg or the vapid show on which she pontificates, it seems that giving Ms. Goldberg news that she doesn’t like makes one a racist and her a slave:

ZWhoopi

She’s played a nun, a psychic, and even God, but the role that has ABC executives up in arms is Whoopi Goldberg’s performance as a slave backstage at The View.

The moderator of the troubled daytime talk show was apparently frustrated with the new executives in charge and how ABC has cut her out of decision-making for Hot Topics by moving the meeting for the segment outside of her contracted hours.

To act out her frustrations last week, the Oscar winner reportedly called herself a slave and spoke in a dialect that slaves once spoke in.

A show source told Daily Mail Online: ‘She was out of control. She paraded up and down the halls saying, “I’s a work for ABC who is my master. I’s a slave to ABC. It’s 12 Years a Whoopi at ABC.”‘

After making the reference to Oscar-winning film 12 Years A Slave, Whoopi loudly declared: ‘I’s just a n****r following orders around here, master!’

Producers were uncomfortable with the 59-year-old comedienne’s outburst and begged her to stop but she kept on, the source told Daily Mail Online.

Whoopi’s frustrations stem from a recent blow-up with The View’s new consulting producer, Candi Carter.

Ms Carter, who was at the helm of this summer’s pilot talk-show Ice-T & Coco, was brought in to help steer The View following the departure of executive producer Bill Wolff.

Whoopi and The View’s other co-hosts – Joy Behar, Raven-Symone, Michelle Collins and Paula Farris – reportedly all found Candi controlling, but Whoopi was the only one with the nerve to speak up.

The source told Daily Mail Online: ‘Upset at the changes that Candi has implemented in the show, and not liking the way Candi speaks to the talent, Whoopi blew up a few days ago.

‘She told Candi: “I don’t take orders from your a**. Stay in your lane like you did when you worked on The Oprah Winfrey Show.”‘

Among the changes that upset Whoopi was the producers moving the Hot Topics segment briefing meeting from 9am to 8.30am.

Whoopi was reportedly infuriated by the expectation that she would arrive 30 minutes earlier for work. She reminded them: ‘I’m contractually obligated to be here at 9am and you won’t see me a minute earlier.’

Producers now have the Hot Topics meeting with the four other co-hosts at 8.30am – and a segment producer preps Whoopi when she arrives at the studio.

‘Whoopi is at the point where she couldn’t care less and keeps reminding everyone that if they don’t like her style, then pay her the rest of her money and send her home,’ the source said.

Daily Mail Online previously reported that Whoopi is in the last year of her four-year, $5-million-per-annum contract that has a play-or-pay clause – which means if she is fired or the show is canceled she is paid regardless.

Whoopi has also cited another clause in her contract to keep her from moderating The View’s new live Friday shows.

Daily Mail Online learned last month that ABC executives had used the Friday moderator post to entice reluctant, original host Joy Behar back to the show after she initially turned down their offers.

The return of Behar was an ‘eleventh hour decision’ that was not told to Whoopi.

The source said: ‘There’s now a buzz backstage that ABC is going to let Whoopi work for the months of her existing contract until December and then not have her return after the holiday break.

‘They would then shift Joy to the regular moderator post and bring back Sherri Shepherd full-time to pick up the slack.’

The View continues to suffer from all-time low ratings – down in its Season 19 premiere despite its revamped panel of hosts. It also lost its key demographic – women aged 25-54 – to CBS’s daytime talk show The Talk.

When contacted by Daily Mail Online for comment about Whoopi’s alleged meltdown, a show spokesperson said, ‘This is pure nonsense and completely untrue. The ratings are up and everyone at the show, including Whoopi, who leads the charge for us each day, is excited about what’s ahead.’

Attempts to reach Whoopi directly were unsuccessful. But on the show yesterday, she vigorously defended the right to use the N word ‘if you know your history.’ And she used the word on the show.

So, to summarize, being a black woman and being asked to do your job is akin to slavery, according to Goldberg. I suggest Ms. Goldberg pick up a book to discover what slavery was really like before she so spouts-off so stupidly.

We’ve all felt frustrated with work at one point or another, but how nice it must be to simply dismiss your bosses as racists whenever they do something you don’t like?
