$3Mill House Benghazi Panel a Pittance Compared to $36 Mill Taxpayers Spent on Barack and Michelle Obama’s Family Vacations
For some reason the corrupt media felt compelled to report the costs of the select committee investigating the Benghazi debacle. The clear inference being what a waste of taxpayer money is being spent on a scandal Leftists consider to be phony. Well, 3 million may sound like a lot of money. But, is it realy?
USA Today reports House Republicans are planning to spend as much as $3.3 million for this year’s operations of the special committee they created in May to investigate the September 2012 Benghazi attacks, a bigger budget than the House Veterans Affairs and Ethics committees were given this year. According to a committee document provided by Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi’s office, House Republicans want a $3.3 million budget for this year’s operations of the 12-member select committee on the Benghazi attacks.
Did you notice how it was Nancy Pelosi who tipped off the media as the amount of money being spent? Well, there’s money and there’s really a lot money.
The Secret Service entourage accompanying President Obama and his family during their trip to sub-Saharan Africa from June 27 to July 3, 2013, incurred $2,189,727.60 in lodging, entertainment, and security expenses.
President Obama’s February 2014 Palm Springs, California, and March 2014 Key Largo, Florida, golf outings cost the taxpayers $2,952,278 for flight expenses alone.
President Obama’s June 2013 trip to Belfast, Ireland, including a Dublin sightseeing side trip by Michelle Obama, her daughters, and her entourage, cost the taxpayers $7,921,638.66.
$11,648.17 in security costs related to President Obama’s “date night” with First Lady Michelle Obama on May 30, 2009 in New York City.
Expenses for the two-week trip appear to have far exceeded $467,175, in light of the fact that costs associated with the aircrafts ‒ two Boeing 747s and several Air Force cargo planes — have not been made available.
The Obama family 2013-2014 vacation to Honolulu cost $210,877 per hour for travel alone; at 36.9 total hours, the cost to taxpayers for the vacation’s flight expense was $7,781,361.30
I think if the costs of the Benghazi committee doubles to even 6 million, it’s a bargin for the American people.
