A Little Honesty For Truthers On The 7th Anniversary Of 9/11

From Reuters,

“Seven years after the Sept. 11 attacks, there is no consensus outside the United States that Islamist militants from al Qaeda were responsible, according to an international poll published on Wednesday.

The survey of 16,063 people in 17 nations found majorities in only nine countries believe al Qaeda was behind the attacks on New York and Washington that killed about 3,000 people in 2001.

U.S. officials squarely blame al Qaeda, whose leader Osama bin Laden has boasted of organizing the suicide attacks by his followers using hijacked commercial airliners.

On average, 46 percent of those surveyed said al Qaeda was responsible, 15 percent said the U.S. government, 7 percent said Israel and 7 percent said some other perpetrator. One in four people said they did not know who was behind the attacks.

The poll was conducted by WorldPublicOpinion.org, a collaborative project of research centers in various countries managed by the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland in the United States.”

Is it too harsh to say that at best, if you don’t believe Al-Qaeda was behind 9/11, you’re too stupid to be taken seriously about anything else and at worst, you’re a kook?

Well, whether it is or not, I’m saying it anyway.

Look, Al-Qaeda tried to knock down the WTC before 9/11 and our intelligence was predicting another big strike, although we didn’t know where it would be landing. Bin Laden even admitted to 9/11.

Moreover, the idea that the US Government or the Israelis carried it out is just silly and runs against all available evidence that comes from legitimate sources and investigations — as opposed to fruitcake conspiracy websites.

I know you conspiracy nuts — and, yes, you do officially count as a conspiracy nut if you don’t think Al-Qaeda was behind 9/11 — love to come up with little details you think prove your case — but all of them are either completely wrong, easily explainable once they’re researched, or just irrelevant. Worse yet, if you listen to 10 different conspiracy kooks, they usually all believe in completely conflicting conspiracies. In other words, the idiots can’t even get their imaginary story straight. They just believe the real story must be wrong — because it just has to be to make them feel smarter and more special than other people.

I say this to you nuts, not out of anger — but because one day, I don’t want your grandchildren to snicker at crazy, old grandpa when you tell them that, “GEORGE Booooosh knocked down the WTC to help the Jews, by cracky!”

You’re probably thinking at this point, “But John, sure these people are morons, but why do you have to be so mean to them?”

I’ll tell you why I am mean to them: because they’re not logical people. You see, if they were logical people, they wouldn’t believe in a conspiracy that’s only marginally more plausible than accusing the tooth fairy of having done it. So, since logic isn’t going to have an impact on them, maybe mockery will.

So here’s a suggestion for you drooling Truther morons who are so stupid that you probably can barely dress yourselves in the mornings: become educated about life and get a handle on linear thinking rather than going through your whole life believing things that are this incredibly stupid.
