A Mini-Review Of “3:10 to Yuma”

This week-end, I caught 3:10 to Yuma, the new Western starring Russell Crowe.

How was it?

There wasn’t quite enough action and the very end of the movie (Let me speak in code here so as not to spoil the movie for people who haven’t seen it), after you-know-who has you-know-what done to him by you-know-whose allies, was so incredibly implausible that it partially ruined the movie for me. In fact, it may have been one of the top 10 dumbest endings to a movie that I have ever seen.

On the other hand, the movie did a great job of creating two characters, the protagonist and the villain, who had some depth to the characters. Russell Crowe’s villain, Ben Wade, was particularly intriguing.

If the movie would have had a better ending, I could recommend it, but as is, I’ll have to give it a thumb’s down.
