And You Thought Asking For Papers Was Bad……

The left went bonkers over the part of the new Arizona law that would require people to carry papers to prove their citizenship. Many wrote that it was like Nazism or Communism.

I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. Many commenters made me pause to think about it. No matter how we feel about getting illegal immigration under control, do we really want that?

Well, gird you loins my friends, because you haven’t seen anything yet. You want government control? The Democrats are more than willing to give you much more:[1]

Democratic leaders have proposed requiring every worker in the nation to carry a national identification card with biometric information, such as a fingerprint, within the next six years, according to a draft of the measure.

…………………….

The national ID program would be titled the Believe System, an acronym for Biometric Enrollment, Locally stored Information and Electronic Verification of Employment.

It would require all workers across the nation to carry a card with a digital encryption key that would have to match work authorization databases.

“The cardholder’s identity will be verified by matching the biometric identifier stored within the microprocessing chip on the card to the identifier provided by the cardholder that shall be read by the scanner used by the employer,” states the Democratic legislative proposal.

Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin, who worked on the proposal, says that America is ready for this.

Are you?

I have to give credit to the ACLU for being consistent on this. They are outraged. What about the left?

Let me end this by telling you simply the difference in conservative and liberal thought. Liberals (leaders) believe that we are too ignorant to govern ourselves. But this is the complete opposite of what the founding fathers believed. Conservatives, like our founders, believe that we can and should govern ourselves. We do know better. Liberals just think they do.

Liberals love government, but only when they are in charge. The same can be said in recent times for Republicans. But that is because they haven’t been true conservatives. In truth, government should be limited. It should be small, no matter who is in charge. And everything it does should depend on “consent of the governed.” Because we still are…a government of the people.
