CBS News Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson Resigns Over Its Liberal Bias
While I was on tour with the Tea Party Express in 2009, I had a frank conversation with a reporter from CNN. I observed that “news reporters are no longer reporters but that they are more like scientists. A reporter use to observe what was happening and recount without any opinion or emotion. A scientist comes up with a hypothesis and then gathers evidence to prove it. The problem with mixing that in the news means you can create evidence to prove any hypothesis or opinion you choose.”: Although this opinion irritated him, I learned that my analysis wasn’t far off as reporters often pitch an entire story, including outcome, to their editor before getting it approved and funded. It is no wonder then why investigative correspondent, Sharyl Attkisson of CBS news has had enough of the networks liberal bias because she’s: no longer allowed to report the news…: she was being pushed to: prove the networks pre-formed liberal hypothesis’.
Took 20 years to find the liberal bias there? But seriously, Attkisson is one of the few real investigative reporters still out there. Hopefully, this will only facilitate her ability to investigate more.
CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson has reached an agreement to resign from CBS News ahead of contract, bringing an end to months of hard-fought negotiations, sources familiar with her departure told POLITICO on Monday.
Attkisson, who has been with CBS News for two decades, had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network’s liberal bias, an outsized influence by the network’s corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting, several sources said. She increasingly felt like her work was no longer supported and that it was a struggle to get her reporting on air.
At the same time, Attkisson’s own reporting on the Obama administration, which some staffers characterized as agenda-driven, had led network executives to doubt the impartiality of her reporting. She is currently at work on a book – tentatively titled “Stonewalled: One Reporter’s Fight for Truth in Obama’s Washington” – which addresses the challenges of reporting critically on the Obama administration.
My approach to finding the news is to go to many sources from Rachel Maddow on MSNBC, Jon Stewarts The Daily Show, FOX and Friends and just whatever on CNN. In NONE of these will you find the truth… but combined you will be able to piece together what the media wants you to believe and from that you may extract what real truth is.
