Chris Christie’s Awesome Week
Written By : Chris Wysocki

For a guy who’s “not running” for president Chris Christie is making all the right moves. New Jersey’s rock-star governor is on fire, raising money for national candidates, thrilling crowds from Iowa to California, standing up to the teachers union (while still being firmly committed to public education), and keeping his promises to eliminate wasteful government spending.

The defenders of the status quo still don’t quite know what to make of him. Surely he wouldn’t really pull the plug on the largest public works project in our state’s history? But pull it he did, and the hand wringing is in full swing. Unable to sway him on the specious merits of a tunnel to nowhere they’re reduced to whining about losing 6,000 potential
construction jobs.

Hmm, let’s see. $8.7 billion divided by 6,000 jobs equals $1.45 million per job. Obamanomics at its finest!

Chris Christie’s style is blunt. Which is a refreshing change from the spinmeisters who comprise our entrenched political class. But sometimes even a good swift kick in the keister doesn’t send his message home. Just ask the commissioners of the Delaware River Port Authority. Christie told them in no uncertain terms to end their profligate ways. What did they do? Voted themselves another big perk (free E-Z Pass rides), that’s what they did.

And then they found out why you don’t tug on Superman’s cape. Governor Awesome vetoed their meeting minutes effectively shutting them down until they see the light.

You know, as much as a lot of you guys would like Chris Christie to run for president in 2012, I’m not sure we’re ready to let you have him yet. There’s still a lot of work to be done here in New Jersey and right now he’s on a roll.

But thanks for noticing that things are finally looking up in the Peoples Republic of New Jersey.

Christie is a bit of a squish and socially leftist, but he's got good common sense ideas on fiscal matters, at least.

Christie has faced some criticism for actions and decisions taken by the U.S. Attorney's Office during his tenure. Much of this criticism has centered on his office's appointments of federal monitors in deferred prosecution agreements, and on claims that Christie used the power of his office to tarnish Democrats facing election. Christie has also been criticized by the ACLU for his office's use of warrantless cellphone tracking and for what critics claim was entrapment in a high-profile terrorism case. Now he is governor of New Jersey voted in by sick white Republican that vote to destroyed New Jersey! Governor Chris Christie as Governor is a hypocrite he could correct the DRPA and clean house! But instead he makes a statement ” he want results now!' Then does nothing! The first thing Governor Chris Christie did was to attack teachers and children and single women that need daycare! Christie has been accused in the past by critics of using his office's role in crafting deferred prosecution agreements to award lucrative federal monitoring positions in no-bid contracts to friends, supporters, and allies as U.S. Attorney's. In June 2009, Christie was called before the House Judiciary Committee as part of its consideration of new regulations on deferred prosecution agreements. In his testimony, he defended his decisions to award no-bid, high-paying federal monitoring contracts to law firms that his critics say constitute a conflict of interest. Christie left the meeting after two and a half hours of questioning, against the requests of the Committee's chairman, stating that he had to attend to pressing business in New Jersey. This is the same behavoir of the personel at the DRPA1 Like the Republican Governor they could careless about the rules or fairness! Governor Ghristie came into office and increase the $90,000 to $130,000 from 17 under former Governor Jon Corzine to 37! So no wonder he does nothing about the DRPA. He practice the same Buddy System friend and family first New Jersey citizen last!

Yes, he's been criticized by the usual suspects on the left for crushing union greed for power and slashing spending. We know that.

If you want to complain about corruption, look at the previous 10 Democratic Party governors who were in office that you didn't give a damn about. Free your mind.

      Then does nothing!

      Much like your comments.

There is something very very sick about a human being that would point weapon at the elderly and or a pregnant women and children! That just lost everything they own and lost love ones! I was watching ” If GOD is Willing Creek Rise” a documentary by Spike Lee on HBO! I saw the United State of America military pointing weapons at black children the elderly and pregnant black women! The shameful thing was at the time black men and women where fighting and dying in two wars for the same idiot that where pointing guns at black people! The shameful thing was in Iraq a war that should have never been started President Bush was sacrificing needlessly American life's and liberating their country and their people. While American “HIS PEOPLE “where being treated like animals and lowlife! Then Lt. General Russel L. Honore arrive retire United State Army! He had to order mostly white American troops to lower their weapon and to stop treating the black survivor like criminal! Especially if they where unarmed and sitting waiting for transportation! The white control media refer to black people as looters and whites doing the same thing as survivors! Now having said all that I must say BLACK PEOPLE” wake up and get it together. Stop the blame game and the woo-as-me and the white man hate me and the I need someone to help me! Learn from Katrina learn that you better teach and learn to swim to build houses to have at all times survivor gear! Every black child should know how to swim starting at 6 months to a year old! Learn to talk and articulate with good and better grammar! Encourage your children to be lawyers Doctors, Carpenters, Police Officers, Judges, Correction Officers! In New Orleans as must as you care about partying and parades! Put those video games AWAY! That Mardi Gras ” should take a backseat to raising educate children to eliminating violent preventing underage pregnancy of acting like downright idiot! Mardi Gras should take a backseat to drinking alcohol and taking drugs and selling drugs! Many black American that was feature in Spike Lee's documentary use too much profanity and where overweight and spoke with horrible diction! That must stop!

    • gfchicago

Ok tyrone, we've got it you hate Republicans and in particular white Republicans. I wonder what you say about black Conservatives!

      • tyrone321

Not at all gfchicago I hate stupid people! I hate Stupid Republican that claim to do better and have a record of failure and stupidity! Like President G. W. Bush that sent American troops to their death to fight and die in Iraq for NOTHING! I can't see how any American could ever vote for another Republican …Do you respect America and the troop that fought and die in Iraq for NOTHING???? Christie is nothing more then a bully and a Joe Six Pack.. that could fix everything WRONG in America! Drinking the Tea Party koolaid is a mistake promoting Republican is dishonoring the American troop that fought and died for NOTHING in IRAQ!!!!!!

        • gfchicago

Yeah tell me another good one. You refuse to see how stupid Obama and his crowd are and all of their failures that are going to bankrupt this country.

I can't see how any American could ever vote for another Republican …

I can't see how any American could ever vote for another Democrat … There I FIFY

Do you respect America and the troop that fought and die in Iraq for NOTHING????

I have a very healthy respect for America and the troops, considering I'm a military brat.

They didn't fight and die for nothing as you say. If that is your contention, it is you that have no respect for our troops, because you just told them that they fought and died for nothing. Every soldier that I've met during the Middle East conflict joined up for a reason and that was to fight to protect our great nation. It's all of you stupid libs that like to denigrate them not the Conservatives.

          I hate stupid people!

Then I guess you hate yourself then, because I've never seen such stupid rants, three of them no less in one thread.

        • StanW

          Iraq was for nothing?

You mean other than removing a brutal dictator, creating democracy, and dealing a serious blow to worldwide terrorism? Yeah, in your Liberal mindset, that counts as nothing!

Great 1st post @ RWN… Keep 'em coming.

  • RealConservative

Actually, the Christie budget increased state spending 6%. And property taxes are going up on average 28% according to the League of Municipalities thanks to the property tax relief cuts.

New Jersey is still approaching the abyss despite the governor's rhetoric. Conservatives – real thinking conservatives – want results not bluster. Unfortunately, all too many are acting the like drones when it comes to Governor Christie. Mr. Wysocki is firmly in that camp.

    • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

As the cost of living goes up, spending has to rise to meet the minimum proper role of government. Conservatives want government to be limited and small not out of an affection for small things but a desire for government to be within its proper role.

And you have to consider that everyone has to work within their limitations; Christie is working with an incredibly hostile leftist legislature. Governors, like presidents, do not have the power to mind control or command the legislative branch.

  • Damundsen

What I would do to bring him to Washington State before he goes to Washington DC.

  • Rose

I want to see him stay in Jersey and get it cleaned up and get the clean-up style contagious to the other 49 states, before they let him move on to the White House.
I'm from Texas and I'd love to see Christie in the White House – I'd love to see Christie conduct wash out Austin Texas til it is sparkling CLEAN!

God bless Chris Christie – Psalm 91

And multiply this move over the nation, a thousand-fold.

    • Good Ol Boy

My thoughts precisely, Rose. I sincerely hope that Gov. Christie can inspire other governors to take fiscal responsibilty for their own states.

Thanks for the comments and the kind words of encouragement. And thanks too to the Christie naysayers, some of you bring up a valid point or 2. Rome wasn't built in a day, and Christie did cut the state budget by more than 8% in one year. Give him time, the next budget will be telling.

Is Chris Christie a conservative wet dream? Perhaps not. But he is a no-nonsense politician who knows what he stands for and works to get done what he believes needs to be done. He's decisive. And he's standing up to the entrenched special interests. New Jersey is in deep doo-doo, at least he's got a plan to get us out.

    Bullying in America

Governor Chris Christie came into office being a bully attacking teacher and children like he was in a war! Screaming at his staff treating them less then. Then the idiot administration loss New Jersey 400 million dollars! Then as most bully do he blame President Obama administration for his stupidity! So far Chris has done nothing but travel around on tax payer money promoting other stupid Republican.

In America no one should be surprise with young people bullying! Especially in white community! Just look at all the white reality shows that our children look at! MTV Jersey Shore which feature white young people fighting and bullying each other! Or Parent Control where young people mostly white curse at adult parent of there girlfriend or boyfriends! Hockey is one of the most violent mostly if not all white sport were fighting is encourage! Wrestling is another mostly white sport violent is front and center. Where white children are seated in the front roll looking at men and women trying to kill each other! Housewives Of Whatever” adult in their 30 and 40 get into physical and verbal fights! The white producer and directors encourage for their rating! Judge Judy is a big and nasty bully that sits in authority and has no reason to be a bully! But she teaches many adults and especially children out to enter act! Judge Judy have called litigants morons, idiot, fool, stupid and one litigant she refer to as “this thing! Judge Judy is a pathetic bully because she know she can call litigant names. If the respond in angry she can dismiss their cases! On The Steve W. Show he kicks chair and calls women the “B' word that is bullying! There should be no surprise to white people why young people bully each other! Jerry Springer promotes fights between mothers and daughter husband and wives and girlfriend and boyfriends etc…The Jerry Springer's audience is encourage to bully and call his guess names! White TV and movie are full of hatred and bullying there should be no surprise! Take a visit to New York where white cops are stopping and frisking black children going and coming from school! They are bulling black children!

The more I see and hear of Governor Christie, the more I like him. His style is refreshing, indeed, especially when we are used to hearing the spin doctors from both parties.

    Great article, Chris.
