I believe the House is going to pass the Senate version of healthcare take over. Obama will then sign it into law. Nothing will get accomplished in Reconciliation, so we will be stuck with the Senate bill as the law of the land. As Pelosi says, once it passes, the stink of this bill will infuriate the nation and the Democrats are going to be voted out of power in the house and maybe the senate. But Obama will have 2 years to veto any legislation that tries to fix this monstrosity and I doubt there will be enough votes to override his veto. So new taxes will be put in place to start paying for coverage that won’t begin for several years. THis means that the kid flipping burgers is going to see his taxes raised for coverage that he will not get. In addition, when the Bush taxe cuts expire at the end of the year, a family of 4 that makes $45K will see their taxes go up an additional 3%. Add in the 2% tax increase for the healthcare they won’t even see for years, this is going to be crippling.
A company with fewer than 50 employees is going to drop health coverage because it will be cheaper to do that than continue to pay the premiums. People will lose coverage in 2011 and not be covered by the Democrat plan until 2014. Is the hope of the Democrats that nobody is going to get sick in those 3 years? Or do Democrats just want you to die in the the words of Lana Grayson?
This legislation and othe actions and inactions by this administration is going to hurt America for a generation. What is truely sad is that there are many Americans cheering this destruction on.
