Doesn’t this count as a rush to war?

We’re nearing a “new global accord” on climate change:[1]

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Barack Obama will attend the end of the Copenhagen climate change summit, a late change of plan the White House attributed on Friday to growing momentum toward a new global accord.

But:[2]

The Met Office plans to re-examine 160 years of temperature data after admitting that public confidence in the science on man-made global warming has been shattered by leaked e-mails.

The new analysis of the data will take three years, meaning that the Met Office will not be able to state with absolute confidence the extent of the warming trend until the end of 2012.

One hopes that by “the extent of the warming trend,” they include the possibility of no warming trend at all. A null or negative extent, I guess you’d call it.

Shouldn’t we be waiting to see what the Met Office finds out before we go charging off with guns blazing to attack a “problem” we quite obviously don’t understand?
