The law (Senate version signed by obama) states: “The only health plans that the Federal Government may make available to Members of Congress and congressional staff with respect to their service as a Member of Congress or congressional staff shall be health plans that are — (I) created under this Act (or an amendment made by this Act); or (II) offered through an Exchange established under this Act (or an amendment made by this Act).”

“The term ‘Member of Congress’ means any member of the House of Representatives or the Senate… The term ‘congressional staff’ means all full-time and part-time employees employed by the official office of a Member of Congress, whether in Washington, DC or outside of Washington, DC.”

What the rightwing has been quibbling about is whether “congressional staff” includes committee and leadership staff. Would you consider them “congressional staff”? I would.

Won”t break my heart. Get rid of the GOP and a new Party will fill the void (nature abhors a vaccuum). This time, the Party which emerges might actually “WALK the TALK” when it comes down to representing the interests of fiscal conservatives.

GOP Rep Paul has a detailed plan of specific spending cuts which will balance the Federal budget without having to raise taxes. Yet he can only get about 10 of his GOP peers in the House to co-sponsor his plan. House Minority Leader Boehner (who refuses to sign on to Rep Ryan’s plan) likes to brag that “things will be different if he becomes Speaker.” You betcha John (wink wink), you still trying to sell sea side property in Arizona too?

Now we have elected Democrats calling for the banning of their political opponents. The march to fascism progresses.
