If McCain Wins, There Will Be A Race War?

It’s hard not to notice that even though Barack Obama initially claimed to be a post-racial candidate, his supporters obviously see his race as the primary selling point of his candidacy.

Setting aside the fact that had it not been for black voters voting for him just because he’s black, he could have never received his party nomination, racism is a constant refrain from Obama’s supporters. They’ve tried to make just about any and every criticism of him imaginable off limits because of race and worse yet, they’ve tried to portray his candidacy as a defining one for the country: whether America is a racist country or not depends on whether we overlook the fact that Obama is too inexperienced to be President and elect him anyway.

Now, Fatimah Ali at the Philadelphia Daily News[1] has taken the next logical step — speculating that a race war will happen if Obama isn’t handed the presidency on a silver platter,

“If McCain wins, look for a full-fledged race and class war, fueled by a deflated and depressed country, soaring crime, homelessness – and hopelessness!”

Whether it’s calling people racists for not supporting Obama or alluding to violence in the streets on his behalf, there is no depth to which his supporters apparently will not sink to exploit Obama’s race during this campaign.
