In Less Than 24 Hours, “Support Phil Robertson” and “Boycott A&E” Facebook Pages Pass 500,000 Likes Each
As reported here yesterday, A&E indefinitely suspended the Duck Commander Phil Robertson for comments they say are disappointing. : The Hollywood Reporter says A&E released a statement saying, “We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in: GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series: Duck Dynasty. : His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”
After that announcement, a “We Stand With Phil Robertson” Facebook page was started. : In less than 24 hours, it’s reached over 600,000 Likes.
Meanwhile, another Facebook page calling for a boycott of A&E until Phil returns has reached over 500,000 Likes.
I think it’s safe to say there’s an army in Phil Robertson’s corner, and A&E are going to be the loser in this battle:
