Inside Imam Rauf’s Shady Washington-Riyadh Finance Trail
Written By : Donald Douglas

The full post is here, “Imam Rauf’s Hush-Hush Taxpayer-Subsidized Middle East Tour — Plus, Inside the Victory Mosque’s Shady Washington-Riyadh Finance Trail“.”

**********
Tammy Bruce identifies Imam Rauf and his wife Daisy Khan as “Obama’s favorite Hillary Clinton Department funded Islamists.” And while “Little Miss Daisy” made some rounds on the Sunday talk show circuit, our “bridge-building” Imam is little to be found. He has turned up, of course, in Bahrain. Most press outlets don’t seem to care, but see the New York Post, “‘Ground Zero’ Imam on Mideast Tour to Make Islam ‘Americanized’“:

Photobucket

The imam behind the plan to build a mosque near Ground Zero surfaced yesterday far from the controversy — in Bahrain, where he’s on a taxpayer-funded trip to the Middle East to spread good will.

Appearing in public for the first time in weeks, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, speaking at a mosque near Bahrain’s capital of Manama, said he wants to “Americanize” Islam — but dodged questions about the uproar over his planned mosque and community center.

Rauf spoke against fanaticism, saying, “This issue of extremism is something that has been a national-security issue — not only for the United States but also for many countries and nations in the Muslim world.”

“This is why this particular trip has a great importance because all countries in the Muslim world — as well as the Western world — are facing this . . . major security challenge,” Rauf told Associated Press Television News in a brief interview.

The cleric also said he was working on a way to “Americanize Islam,” but didn’t offer any details.

No details…

That makes sense, since the dude’s looking for $100 million large to help finance the Ground Zero Victory Mosque. No doubt sharia finance networks will be coming up with some of that cash, news of which of course wouldn’t go over so well with some of the 9/11 families now speaking out in New York. Indeed, opponents of the mosque might not have the full details on the depth of Imam Rauf’s scam, which is more fundamentally implicated into the Obama administration than has been noted by most commentators.

What's missing imo is declaring those muslims who have come forward and opposed the mosque at GZ to be the 'moderate muslims' we have been looking for and demanding that the liberals start supporting the moderates, not the radicals pushing to build it

That properly frames the issue, and also provides support and megaphone to those COURAGEOUS muslims who have voiced opposition.

A moderate Muslims is one that agrees with Liberals in the Hate America First quest.

While your idea has merit, it would be rejected out-of-hand by the likes of Fail and Jane as bigoted.

  • jharp

“help finance the Ground Zero Victory Mosque”

It's not a mosque. It's not at ground zero. And has nothing to do with any victory.

You and you ilk are nothing but a bunch of hateful bigots.

    “Love thy neighbor” right?

    God you people are stupid.

    • mightysamurai

      It's not a mosque.

Yes it is, son. The Imam in charge of it has said numerous times that it is, in fact, a mosque. Furthermore, according to the tenets of Islam, any building that houses a mosque is itself considered a mosque.

      “Love thy neighbor” right?

You should learn what that phrase actually means before you go around repeating it.

No it is not. It is a community center that houses a mosque.

I suppose the Pentagon is also a mosque since it also houses a mosque.

        “Love thy neighbor” right?

“You should learn what that phrase actually means before you go around repeating it.”

You should share what the phrase means. That is if you are a Christian.

The Pentagon is a mosque now? Good one.

        God you people are stupid.

        • mightysamurai

          No it is not.

Yes, it is. And no amount of fervent wishes from you will change that.

It's a mosque, according to the Imam in charge of building it, and according to the tenets of the faith that Imam follows. Your ignorance of both is not my problem.

You should share what the phrase means.

Apparently I should, since you are obviously unaware of it.

“Love thy neighbor as you love yourself” comes from Leviticus (and also Luke but originally from Leviticus) and is part of the Judeo-Christian definition of the Golden Rule or the Ethic of Reciprocity. It teaches two general lessons. (1) That you should refrain from doing to another person what you would not want done to you, and (2) that you should actively perform good acts for people in need just as you would want others to perform good acts for you if you were in need.

Contrary to popular liberal belief, it is not a catch-all phrase that can be used to justify any indecency, injustice, or impropriety under the logic that opposing said act would not be a “loving” action towards your neighbor.

Opposing this mosque is not antithetical to any aspect of the Bible, and certainly not to this one. It is quite possible for me to love my muslim neighbors without wanting a radical Imam (or any other Imam for that matter) to build a mosque intended to memorialize 19 murderous terrorists. If 19 Christians had commandeered a pair of airliners and crashed them into skyscrapers in a muslim country (say Saudi Arabia) I would be equally opposed to letting a Christian priest build a cathedral a few blocks away from the site of the attack. Particularly if that same Christian priest had previously refused to condemn a Christian terrorist group and had stated that Saudi Arabia had brought the attack upon itself.

See how that works? I would not do this to muslims, therefore I would also not want muslims to do the same to me.

The Pentagon is a mosque now?

False. The Pentagon has a non-denominational chapel that is used as a place of worship and prayer by all Pentagon employees, regardless of their faith. Even you should be able to understand the difference between muslims using a space to pray and actually calling that space a mosque. If I, a Christian, choose to pray in the employee lounge of my place of work, does that make that lounge a Christian church? Of course not. Not by the laws of the Bible nor the rules of logic.

You know, considering President Bush didn't have a problem with this guy and liked him, I have no idea why you suddenly hate him.

One thing that the Republicans have shown since President Obama took office is that President Bush was the only one holding the Republicans back from disgusting and illegal xenophobic behaviour after 9/11.

    • mightysamurai

You know, considering President Bush didn't have a problem with this guy and liked him, I have no idea why you suddenly hate him.

I'm not surprised. You seem generally clueless about most things in general.

Fact: The Imam in charge of this mosque has refused to denounce organizations like Hamas as a terrorist organization and has argued that Americas brought 9/11 on ourselves.

So, you're left with the following choices. You can choose to believe that this Imam lied about his radical beliefs when he met with President Bush and is now showing his true colors. Or, you can choose to believe that this Imam has become a supporter of radical Islam in the intervening years.

Either choice is fine with me. So long as you're willing to accept that this Imam is a supporter of radical Islam.

      • Huron Voyager

Somehow, I suspect that you would like to all the Muslims in America “deported.”

        Scumbag.

        • mightysamurai

Stop projecting your religious intolerance on the rest of us.

    • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

      Hoggo you aren't that stupid.

  • jharp

“Ron Paul breaks with GOP on New York mosque: The opposition ‘is all about hate and Islamaphobia.’”

Whoops. Now you've lost the teatards.

And displaying more ignorance than the teabaggers is quite difficult.

    • StanW

At least we allow dissent in our party, as opposed to Democrats and Liberals (but I repeat myself) who will throw anyone under the bus that strays from the Dogma du jour.

      • jharp

“At least we allow dissent in our party”

You allow bigotry and hate, not dissent. Haven't you heard all of the wingnuts apologizing to Limbaugh for straying from the party line.

Come to think it, bigotry and hate is what the party is based on.

And why do you hate the first amendment?

        • StanW

We allow dissent, as opposed to you and your ilk who will trash anyone who strays from your plantation.

Bigotry and Hate are the basis of the Democrat Party. KKK Anyone?

          • jharp

            “KKK Anyone?”

The republicans are one step away from bringing back the CONSERVATIVE KKK. So I guess the answer to your question is yes, the teabaggers would love to see the KKK come back.

I suppose you'll try to tell me that the KKK were liberals next.

            God you people are stupid.

          • StanW

You mean like that staunch COnservative Robert KKK Byrd? Are you really that ignorant?

Provide proof that the Tea Party wants to bring back the KKK, or apologize for your idiocy.

          • mightysamurai

The republicans are one step away from bringing back the CONSERVATIVE KKK.

Republicans are one step away from switching to the Democratic Party? Where did you hear that?

          • the_hawk

So you always come on here spouting your usual rants with your standard tag line, “God you people are stupid”, and yet we're the haters and the bigots?

God, you must be 9-years old.

        • mightysamurai

You allow bigotry and hate, not dissent.

Right. That must be why John Hawkins is organizing a loud and angry protest of Homocon rather than supporting and sponsoring it.

          Oh wait…

    • Mediumheadboy

Say, harpo, I thought you were leaving. I guess you're just another lying sack of shit Democrat. (But I repeat myself.)

    • mightysamurai

*snort* The fact that you think Ron Paul represents the Tea Party (or anybody at all within the conservative movement) instantly proves you have no idea what you're talking about.

      • jharp

“The fact that you think Ron Paul represents the Tea Party”

Hey dumbass. Why in the fuck would the teatards have Ron Paul speak at the D.C. teabagger protest then?

“Ron Paul gave a stirring speech at the Tax Day Tea Party in Washington DC, calling for an end to big government and a return”

        God you people are stupid.

        • mightysamurai

Hey dumbass. Why in the fuck would the teatards have Ron Paul speak at the D.C. teabagger protest then?

Hey douchenozzle. Why in the fuck do you assume that just because someone is invited to give a speech at one event he automatically represents everyone there?

I guess by your logic, Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink perfectly represent you and everyone else on the left. After all, they've both spoken at left-wing and anti-war protests before, right? I guess by your logic, it's fair to say you hate the troops and the Jews and you support Islamic terrorists. Because obviously the fact that they spoke at a protest instantly proves you agree with everything they say, right?

    • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

Good lord are you clueless. Paulites and the Tea Party are two totally separate movements.

      • jharp

        Got it.

Even though the teatards have Ron Paul speak at the teabagger festivals of ignorance they in no way support him. And he is no part of the teabagger movement.

        God you people are stupid.

        • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

What is wrong with your head, harp? People who post here are part of the Tea Party Movement stop trying to yell at everyone what you insist they believe and who you insist leads them.

          • jharp

“People who post here are part of the Tea Party Movement”

I figured. Taxed. Enough. Already. T.E.A., after Obama cut taxes for 95% of us. Taxes are now lower than what 95% of us paid under George Bush.

And you wonder why we make fun of you idiots.

            God you people are stupid.

  • http://www.wordaroundthenet.com Christopher Taylor

The funding of this bothers me less than its insulting and disrespectful location. Being funded by Saudi Arabia isn't surprising, that's going to happen for any major mosque. If they get Iranian funds I think that should raise some red flags, but they'll never admit to that and cover it up as best they can.
