Interior Secretary Ken Salazar Should Go

In a move that was sure to devastate the coastal region even more, the Obama administration issued a six month moratorium on deepwater drilling. This would be like having a plane crash, and putting a six month moratorium on flying.

Luckily for us, a judge in Lousiania has overturned this decision. The Obama administration is challenging it of course, but I thought you might like to hear a bit of the details of that court case. There are enlightening.

Michelle Malkin describes how the plaintiff’s lawyer argued in court that the overbroad ban promised to be more devastating to Gulf workers than the spill itself.

“This is an unprecedented industry-wide shutdown. Never before has the government done this,” attorney Carl Rosenblum said.

Never before has the government done this. Where have we heard that before? Oh, I know. Many times in this Presidency.

The moratorium would cost as many as 20,000 Louisiana jobs in the next 12 months to 18 months, not to mention raise energy costs for all of us.

But it gets worse. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar inserted a false drilling ban recommendation by Scientists that served on the committee and presented it to court. He wrote:

“the recommendations contained in this report have been peer-reviewed by seven experts identified by the National Academy of Engineering.”

This would lead one to believe that the seven experts agreed. This is a lie. A blatant lie. Michelle reports that the Scientists have reportedly received an apology, but isn’t this a bit more serious than an apology?

Not only is this chilling, but it demonstrates what lengths this administration will go to to get what it wants. It ignores the will of the people over and over, and now it threatens an already fragile economy.

Unbelievable.
