Krauthammer: If Obama was a Republican, he’d be impeached

One of the basic duties of the Commander in Chief is to uphold the law–and Obama has often boldly refused to do so, according to Charles Krauthammer[1]. In fact, Krauthammer believes that if a Republican president had ignored the Constitution the way Obama has, he’d be impeached.

From National Review:

While Republicans met today at a retreat in Maryland and debated immigration:  reform – with many worrying that, no matter what Republicans pass, President Obama will not enforce it faithfully – Krauthammer looked back on the times the president has failed to faithfully uphold the law.

“He’s done that over and over again on immigration, drug laws, climate change, and, of course, on Obamacare, which he has unilaterally altered lawlessly at least 15 times,” Krauthammer said. “It’s as if a Republican ran and said, ‘I don’t like the capital-gains tax,’ Congress rejects an abolition of that tax, and then he orders the IRS not to collect it. People would be up in arms and would be impeaching.”

Imagine if George W. Bush–whom liberals insisted on calling “King George” and “George II”–had done this. We’d still be hearing about it.
