Liberal Bias Doesn’t Take A Break For The Holidays
Written By : Sister Toldjah

I was in the middle of a leisurely look at this morning’s sales papers, and as it is every week, a Parade magazine was included with the sales papers and coupons. This week’s magazine featured a “best and worst of 2008″ year in review of sorts, and I was disappointed but not surprised to see that not only did their campaign highs and lows include all the “highs” for Obama (except for one – McCain’s concession speech, of course) but one of the “lows” for McCain included a now-debunked myth about people allegedly yelling “kill him” and “terrorist” at the mention of Obama’s name at a McCain/Palin rally:

LOW
People shouting, “Terrorist!” and “Kill him!” when Obama’s name was mentioned at some John Mc-Cain-Sarah Palin rallies. While this was neither Mc-Cain’s nor Palin’s fault, it revealed the thin membrane separating civility from mob rule in politics today. –Jonathan Alter, NBC News analyst and author of “Between the Lines”

Only problem is, the “kill him” and “terrorist” references were made towards mentions of unrepentant domestic terrorist and FOO (Friend Of Obama) Bill Ayers. But why let little inconvenient facts get in the way of a year-end gift delivered to Obama courtesy of Parade magazine?

I should also note that Alter wasn’t the only political pundit talking about what he felt were the highs and lows of the 2008 presidential campaign season (Bill O’Reilly was another – but he was only allowed one mention, apparently), but Alter is easily the most liberal of the bunch. Surprise surprise.

One more point about Parade’s “highs and lows” section, as part of the “highs,” there were various “highs” related to Obama’s race: the “high” of him being the first black person to win the Iowa caucuses, and his “race speech” after the Rev. Wright uproar was also listed as a “high.” Not listed as a “low”? Obama’s repeated playing of the race card during the 2008 campaign season – a card he used against his chief Democrat opponent during the primaries and during McCain during the general election campaign season.

Once again, the old double standards the media employs on race hold strong: If you’re a white Republican and you play the race card, you’re villified almost to the point of no return but when you’re a black Democrat – especially one on the verge of becoming the first black president of the United States, it’s a-ok.

Move along here … nothing to see.
