Massachusetts: Democratic Pants On The Ground
Written By : McQ

AP has just called the Massachusetts Senate race for Republican Scott Brown (9:25 pm) who looks like he’ll end up with anywhere from a 5 to 7 point win.

Probably the most interesting thing I saw during the coverage was feedback during a Frank Lunz group on Fox (I watched MSNBC most of the night which was, well frankly, highly entertaining). The group were predominantly Democrats who voted for Obama. And a good majority of them claim to have voted for Brown. When asked why they said they were against health care reform, wanted Congress to back off and they were sending a message.

What will be interesting is how all the political “experts” choose to interpret this loss and what adjustments they’ll recommend be made. But I can tell you right now, there are a whole crap load of Democrats in marginal seats thinking “if we can’t hold Teddy Kennedy’s seat in Massachusetts, what chance have I unless I do something completely different?”

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid wake up to a whole new world tomorrow.

Congratulations Senator-elect Scott Brown.

If we’re lucky Reid and Pelosi will die in their sleep of massive heart attacks from the stress, that is assuming they have hearts….

Bad form, Rorschach. They don’t need to be dead, just defeated.

Actually, I thought that when he asked who voted for Brown, very few of the group raised their hands? I’ll have to rewatch the video later.

    THE TEDDY K REAL LEGACY
Kennedy held this seat for so long, that people forgot how he originally got it. Ted Kennedy was appointed to it after the “Boston machine” changed the law to protect the seat originally won by JFK through nefarious means. Later, Teddy’s first real elections were won by sympathy votes cast for his name on behalf of his asassinated brothers — Then his own plane crash. By now he was a 2 1/2 term Senator, always hard to beat those.

The corruption of the Boston machine plus his name kept him in power in spite of scandals that would have put other Senators into retirement (or prison for manslaughter or rape). Instead of being condemned for his drunken behavior, he was praised by the national press – 24/7 advertising every day of the year. The Democrats still don’t realize that Kennedy didn’t represent the real people of Massachusetts. Kennedy was imposed and given a coronation. Now the people are taking THEIR seat back. Kerry is next to go.

How about “lose one for Mary Jo”? Ted Kennedy was a useless, drunken, cheating (both academically and in his marriage), vicious, philandering boor. Also a pathetic excuse for a “public servant”. He was not worthy to hold any of his brother’s jock straps, even the two assassinated ones who were not so great themselves. I sincerely hope the people of MA purge themselves of the nasty Kennedy legacy once and for all. We need no “royalty”.
